The Boschendal vineyard estate has been around since 1685, but the estate of today is the result of extensive restructuring in the 1990s, when grape varieties were matched to individual sites. The grapes in this wine have come from the cooler slopes of the Simonsberg. Deep crimson in colour, this is a vibrant and concentrated wine, full of red berry flavours accented by hints of mint and tobacco leaf. Medium-bodied and rounded, with pliant tannins. Ideal with homemade steak and kidney pie.
