The corridors of Charterhouse School are not the most obvious place for a pioneering English rock band to start out. But there again; Genesis are not what anyone would call an obvious band. Garden Wall was the name of the band formed by Peter Gabriel; Tony Banks; Mike Rutherford; Chris Stewart and Anthony Phillips; but it was another Charterhouse pupil; Jonathan King that gave them the name Genesis and set them on their way to recording (yes; that Jonathan King; so lets gloss over that bit).
