The Light Cycles were probably the coolest vehicles in Tron. They were not only fast and agile (they could instantly turn through 90 degrees) but they also had the ability to emit a wall of solid light (stop sniggering physics geeks) which trailed behind them remaining in place until the cycle was destroyed. The wall was used to trap oponents and force them to crash before they did the same. It would seem the cycles had poor brakes.
