The LM4040 and LM4041 series are easy to use shunt voltage references which provide a constant output voltage, irrespective of the loading on the device and temperature variation. The LM4040 is available with a range of output voltages and tolerances including a device that supplies 4.096V for 12-bit systems. The LM4041 is available in a fixed nominal 1.225V voltage version and also an adjustable version which is variable between 1.225V and 10V. Having a comprehensive set of features means that these devices are able to ensure a stable output voltage over a wide range of operating currents and temperatures. A unique manufacturing process has made it possible to offer four output voltage tolerances, thus offering designers maximum flexibility in choosing the best cost-to-performance ratio for their applications.
