MINOLTA DIMAGE G400
The high-speed, ultra-compact 4.0 megapixel DiMAGE G400 is an easy-to-use digital camera housed in a slim, elegantly-styled body.
4 Million Pixels Effective Pixels
This high resolution combined with original Hybrid Adaptive A*IPS technology means faithful reproduction of every detail of every scene. Colour reproduction and gradation are true to life, too, thanks to the implementation of a special primary colour filter.
High Speed, Quiet 3x Optical Hexanon lens
The GT HEXANON 3x optical zoom lens features special treatment to suppress flare and edge distortion so that it delivers extraordinarily high image resolution. Although it has 7 elements in 6 groups, including aspherical elements, this lens contributes to the camera's slim profile by being one of the smallest-diameter lens in the world with this level of performance. And with its high-speed, low-noise zoom drive you can frame and shoot so fast you won't miss a great shot.
3x Optical Zoom, 2x Digital Zoom
A top-quality GT HEXANON 3x zoom lens gives you a 5.6 ~ 16.8 mm optical zoom range (equivalent to 34 ~ 102 mm on a 35mm film camera) for a wide range of zoom framing options from wide angle to telephoto. Combine this with 2x digital zoom and you have up to an outstanding 6x zoom range. Exceptionally fast zoom operation - wide to telephoto in 0.8 seconds - means you can frame and shoot in an instant.
Movie Recording Capability
You can record movies with sound as long as your memory card capacity allows. Use high-capacity memory for extra long recording time.
Program AE Mode/ Aperture Priority Mode
In the Program AE Mode the Dimage G400 automatically determines the optimum aperture and shutter speed settings for each shot. In the Aperture Priority mode you set the aperture manually, and the camera sets the ideal shutter speed to match, for optimum exposure. There's also a 4-way button for easy selection of the AF Fixed, AE Fixed, Exposure Compensation, or White Balance functions, giving you extra creative control.
Manual Exposure Mode with Noise Reduction
This mode lets you manually select shutter speeds from 15 ~ 1/1000 seconds*1, and gives you a choice of f/2.8 or f/4.7 aperture settings so you have extensive creative control. When shutter speeds are slower than 1/2 second noise reduction*2 is automatically activated.
*1 1/3 EV steps. Varies according to zoom ratio.
*2 Also applies to long exposures in Aperture Priority mode.
Auto-Bracket Function
This function automatically produces 3 images for each shot you take, with " bracketed " (slight over and under variations) exposure and/or focus settings. Focus bracketing can be particularly valuable for macro shots where precise focus is critical.
Digital Subject Program
Use the Digital Subject Program Selection to automatically set up for optimum image quality with a broad range of subjects. A selection of 6 programs make it easy to create stunning images in a variety of conditions:
Angel - This shutter-priority mode reproduces beautiful skin tones. Perfect for children or female models.
Snap - Ideal for precise focus from approximately 0.8 ~ 2.5 meters (2.67~8.3 feet), use this mode for quick snapshots when the subject is difficult to focus on.
Sports - As the name suggests, this mode is perfect for sports scenes with fast-moving subjects or elements you want to freeze in action.
Portrait - This mode gives you beautiful defocused backgrounds, providing a perfect setting for portraits.
Scenery - Landscapes have extra realism and depth with this mode, as it maintains sharp focus right out to distant objects.
Night - In addition to taking stunning shots of sunsets and night scenes, you can get sharply focused portraits while retaining a naturally-lit background (use of tripod may be necessary).
Colour Effects Mode
Use colour effects to express an emotion or enhance a mood. In addition to the standard colours, black-and-white, and sepia, there's a warm colour mode that's ideal for people or sunsets, and a cold colour effect that can be great for scenic shots. That's 5 extra ways to express yourself.
Dual Slot for Memory Stick or SD card
A Dual Slot design allows you to use SD memory cards or Memory Stick media according to your needs. This means your camera is compatible with the widest possible range of digital equipment. You can even use both media types simultaneously to allow high-volume shooting and storage, change media types according to the application, and copy data from one media type to the other for significantly enhanced data-management potential.
