Despite its common name this is not a true crocus at all. First discovered in Chile in 1862 it was for many years thought to be extinct in the wild. Its brilliant blue crocus-like flowers often with white-veined throats are set off beautifully against the narrow greyish-green leaves. RHS Award of Garden Merit winner. Flowers in spring. Height 10cm. Corm size 6cm . (Corm sizes quoted in centimetres refer to the circumference of corms. All bulbs/corms are sourced from cultivated stocks.)
