This choice hard-to-find orchid is a close relative of Cypripedium reginae. Unlike Cypripedium reginae the flower colour of Cypripedium flavum varies from brilliant yellow to very pale yellow to yellowish green sometimes with rust-coloured spots or maroon blushes. It looks most at home and grows best if you can provide it with a location that reflects its woodland origins. Flowers April-June. Height up to 60cm.
