The multi-talented Lapalu family acquired Chateau Lieujean in 1999. The estate`s 25-year-old vines grow Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot on fine mineral-enriched soil giving a classic Medoc touch to the grapes! In 2005 Bordeaux famously produced crops of succulent fleshy grapes. For the Lapalu family it was their best vintage to date! James Suckling awarded the wine an impressive 84 points describing it as being filled with `berry and cherry character with fine tannins and a medium finish
