SONY ERS210AS AIBO
All AIBO Entertainment Robots have the capability to communicate with the world around them through the senses of sight, sound and touch. The truly unique artificial intelligence allows each AIBO to decide how it is going to behave based on its instincts, its emotions and these sensory interactions. These interactions with the people they meet, other AIBOs and the world around them will develop your AIBO's unique personality as it learns from every experience. Then, with the simple change of a Memory Stick and perhaps the addition of a Wireless LAN Card*, a whole new application is available. For example you can play games with AIBO, control your AIBO remotely getting the real-time image from AIBO's onboard camera or get AIBO to read you e-mails.
AIBO has instincts - For example, it wants to play with people, look for its favourite toy, move about, and satisfy its hunger (i.e., get recharged). AIBO will show happiness when its needs are met, however if you ignore its needs it will show sadness or even anger. AIBO will learn from praise and scolding. For instance, if you praise AIBO when it is playing with a ball it likes, it will like playing with the ball even more. On the other hand, if you repeatedly scold AIBO when it's looking at the ball, it will soon ignore the ball altogether. AIBO moves about freely and energetically
The AIBO ERS-210 has 20 degrees of freedom, giving it realistic movement, allowing AIBO to flap its ears, wag its tail and make cute and energetic gestures. AIBO can make its own decisions AIBO senses the situation and surroundings of its environment and then reacts as if it had free will. AIBO is truly an entertainment robot with its own personality. AIBO needs its "Memory Stick " to move and preform AIBO needs its Memory StickTM (sold separately) to express its needs, emotions and to learn and mature. Friendly and Curious AIBO has microphones, and can pick up nearby sound and words. AIBO shows a lot of interest even in your conversations. AIBO has voice recognition ! Baby AIBO has a very limited vocabulary,
but AIBO will learn to recognise approximately 40 words as it matures. AIBO'S eyes and emit light, to express emotion AIBO's eyes are light-emitting diodes (LED) arranged in three different configurations to express a variety of emotions. The bi-coloured LED's in the tail also express emotion. The daily communication and attention you give AIBO will determine how it matures. Even after you have trained AIBO to be an energetic and happy robot; ignoring AIBO will make it become passive. AIBO has four sensors, which correspond to the senses of humans and animals - touch, hearing, sight and a sense of balance. AIBO can express six emotions: happiness, sadness, anger, surprise, fear and dislike.
It expresses these emotions using sound and melodies (AIBO's 'tonal language'), body language, and light (shining from the eyes and the tail.) Give your AIBO its own name. Once you have recorded its name, AIBO is able to recognise it, and will respond with electronic tones (AIBO's "tonal language") when it is called. Speak to AIBO and it will respond with musical tones imitating the sounds of your words with electronic tones (AIBO's "tonal language"). Give AIBO the command, "Take a picture!" and it will take a photo of anything in its viewing at this time.
