Unlike many premium Californian estates, Silver Oak use only American oak, which endows their wines with immense polish and up-front aromatics. This forward style is enjoyable upon release, but also rewards cellaring for 3-5 years. The Napa Cabernet includes small portions of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot, offering a swathe of intense black fruits overlaid with heady spice, vanilla and cedar notes.
