This is a clever new filter for large/koi ponds from Oasis. The pond water is pushed through the inbuilt UV and is then directed into a vortex at the bottom of the unit. Here the only way the water can exit is via the top of the filter. This forces the flow of water upwards - this action means heavier waste particles sink to the base of the unit (flush waste valve at base for easy cleaning).
