At the begining of the 20th century Donatien Bahuaud was a clog maker in the Nantes region of the Loire valley who decided that he would be better off if he turned his hand to vineyards and winemaking. By the end of the century it had become a big business with vineyards in many of the Loires best appellations. This is their flaship Chinon that comes from Cabernet Franc grapes grown on two vineyard sites of notably different soil composition.
