McGUIGANS - Merlot- Bin 3000 75cl Bottle

Crimson red in colour with a nose of definitive blueberry and cranberry with earthy mushroom overtones. Floral yeast derived esters add additional complexity. On the palate its a medium, full bodied wine with intense berry fruit flavours on the palate. Velvety tannins secondary alcohol richness and subdued acidity give a rich fleshy soft wine. The Merlot grapes were harvested at between 12 and 13 Beaume when the fruit was at optimum ripeness and fermented over a short period at controlled temperature. The fruit received minimal agitation in an attempt to produce characteristics similar to those obtained by carbonic maceration where fermentation occurs within the uncrushed berry. This methodology assists in producing very soft supple wines with lifted aromatics. Some small wood was used in the production of this wine, however stainless steel was used for the maturation of this wine in order to preserve the pristine fruit characters.Most will enjoy McGuigans Bin 3000 with all main course dishes of red m
