The frame is a highlight of the 1000. It is made from the Trek Alpha Aluminium that is found on many higher priced bikes. This uses the natural lightweight of aluminium and strengthens it to provide reliability of performance. The downtube is oversized aero shape to provide improved aerodynamics. This principle is also found in the cro-moly forks, which are also aero. | The drivetrain for the 1000 comes in either double or triple option. This is annoted by either a D or T after the size in the size options. It is dominated by Shimano Sora. The Sora shifters have STI features which provide incredible precise. At the rear Sora uses 11 tooth pulleys which last longer and are low friction for a smoother reaction. At the front Sora provides an extra wide pivot link which increases rigidity for improved reaction. The crankset is either 53/39 for double or 52/42/30 for triple. | The braking is provided by alloy dual pivot with quick release brakes teamed with Sora STI levers for easy braking regardless of hand position. | IRC Red Storm tyres are used on the 1000, these use Glass fiber and Silica Compound for grip, CAF casing for lightweight sidewall protection and the TRF system to strengthen sidewalls and improve handling.
