In most respects the Pro-ject 1 is similar to the 0.5. However, it offers a significant improvement over the 0.5 thanks to it's use of a superior tonearm. The arm is a one peice design which not only allows you to use a superior cartridge but is also less prone to spurious resonances, thus significantly reducing the surface noise while increasing bass definition and your musical enjoyment. Of course the Pro-ject 1 is supplied with a pre-fitted Ortofon cartridge which is upgradeable by simply changing styli thus maximising the performance of this remarkable turntable
