For the price, you get a plastic blank classics scale horse, a set of acrylic paints, some brushes, mohair in black and white, and some glue.
This kit IS worth the money, purely and only for the blank horse and the mohair. The rest you may as well bin.
1/ The acrylic paints are not. They are water colours. Acrylic paints should be mixable with water but dry waterproof. These do not, and so you will struggle EXTREMELY hard to get any kind of a passable paint job on your horse. Because the paint is not waterproof, you can only paint one layer - each subsequent layer will remove the previous one as it wets it.
Useless and not what the literature with the kit claims.
2/The brushes are extremely low quality, you will need to buy new ones.
3/ The glue provided is PVA and as such is not suitable for the purpose intended. I would advise some form of contact adhesive.
All in all, this is quite a disappointing product. With the materials provided there is absolutely NO WAY you could ever achieve anything remotely resembling the pictures provided on the box or in the accompanying leaflets. Fortunately I am an adult and realised this soon on.
I would not buy this kit for a child - children have high expectations but usually poor motor skills, to compound their disappointment by providing rubbish quality materials, and pictures that even the best custom model horse artist couldnt match given said materials is, I feel, cruel.
By all means buy it, as I say the blank horse alone is worth the purchase price, but do so understanding you will need to lay out a further £10 on real acrylic paints, another £6 - £10 on decent brushes and yet more for suitable adhesive, and protective finishes.
