| Airfix | Concorde Gift Set | This kit represents fantastic value for money,the parts fit together well and an impressive model can be made from the kit parts,I liked the rubber tyred wheels and the way the cabin windows are glazed with a special clear liquid material,much better than dozens of tiny windows that are fiddly and never look quite right ! the shape of this beautiful aeroplane has been well captured by the Airfix tool makers and they are to be congratulated on a difficult task,the distinctive wing shape and camber in particular are well done.The decal sheet will keep you busy for a few hours placing all of those detailed logo"s and maintenance instructions that the full size aircraft uses,the only area that quite frankly is a gimmick is the moving droop snoot nose,the clear linkage supplied is too brittle and snaps easily,I fixed mine after giving it a try. You will not need any nose weight in this one as she stands firmly on her undercarriage,it is best to consider spray painting this model to get a good finish as she is so big,this model is a real eye catcher in any 1=72nd scale collection and top marks to Airfix for producing such an excellent model of this beautiful aeroplane,every collection should have one ! | | Barry Clay | 19/12/2004 21:49:39 |
