Fantastic camera. I bought this nearly 2 years ago for my Brothers wedding. I wanted a camera that was easy to use but took fantastic shots; the IXUS II does just that. I bought a larger SD card, holding up to 250 pictures as I wanted lots of room. It was great to be able to link straight to my laptop and see the pictures very quickly. The pictures I and others took with the IXUS II are amazing. The colour and sharpness is outstanding. Im a lover of SRL but when it comes down to it the IXUS preforms better under every condition without any fuss. In the end the wedding pictures from the IXUS turned out better than the very good proffesional wedding photos. The colours are sharper and the colour representation is spot on, you cant fault them. Last week my Sister was looking through my photos taken with it on my laptop with amazment at the quality. She was surprised that it was digital and not SRL she now wants an IXUS too instead of her Nikon SLR. It has never taken a bad photo, I hightly recommend it.

For reference, I am not a professional photographer, but I do use my camera quite a lot (I have taken about 2000 pictures in the last 18 months).
I have my settings to maximum quality/size, which means the photos are about 1MB each, and can fit about 250 on a 256MB SD card (which I managed to pick up for about £20). I get the photos printed out at about 10p a picture, after I have sifted through all the bad ones, and the picture quality is great - I would not see the point in a higher megapixel camera if it was just to end up with normal photos.
The 2x optical zoom is great, but I would never intentionally use the digital zoom - I see this as a pointless feature in any digital camera (it merely crops the photo rather than actually changing the focus of the lens, which means that you just get a smaller (and thus slightly more blurry) final picture).
It is a great size, and has a good sturdy feel to it.
All-in-all a great camera!
