This is a great, small, lightweight travel cot and our baby slept really well in it. It is a NIGHTMARE to pack away and the instructions are little help. We and another couple we know had to resort to duct taping it until we got the hang of it. Once you get the knack, it`s fine but the instructions are sadly lacking!

We borrowed a cot style travel cot from our neighbours - hugely heave (I could hardly lift it) and rather cumbersome, not so much of the travel there then.
I bought this so we could put it in our tent. Put the little one in it this afternoon and she loved it. Success all round I think.
We were thinking of getting the Littlelife Arc 2, but this is a pop-up so much easier. The mattress seems comfy and the pad is nice too, sort of like half a sleeping bag. I am very pleased.

It packs unbelievably small, only takes a few moments to put up. Packing up again is a little nacky but I have managed. I buy a lot of baby stuff from e-bay but these were selling for almost as much second hand as new - always a good sign!

After trawling shops and websites in the hope of finding a good value travel cot, that actually seemed suited to the title of travel cot (I had issues with how much everything seemed to weigh), this just fitted the bill excellently.
After getting our heads around the folding up mechanism for putting it away (opening is a doddle, it just pops out - stand back!), we can find very little to fault this item on. Our baby slept in it without any problem. The handy little cover to lay over the self inflating mattress is good if you have any spills as you can clean it easily.
The absolute bonus on this item is the weight and how compact it is for storage/travel. 2.2kg and it comes in a handy carry bag. Very good when flying as you dont have to worry how much weight is taken up by the cot.
The downside is probably when your baby is walking, as it does not have high sides like traditional cots and they will just be able to get out. And the self inflating mattress does need a hand with a top up of air. But, for versatility, use on the beach, in the garden etc. as well as being a sleeping space, easy to move, put up/take down, carry, it is just great. Also if you go to friends or family for an evening and dont want to mess up your babys routine, this is so simple and quick to use. Well worth paying an extra £10 or so than on the traditional style ones if these points Ive given are important to you too.

It literally takes a couple of minutes to put up. You undo the tie and the spring action does the rest. Stand well back though when you undo the tie as it does spring up with some force. The self inflating mattress does need a couple of breaths to top up but then easily zips into place under the tent. The soft cover then simply Velcros in.
The instructions to collapse werent great as the pictures were too small and blurred but theyre repeated on the outside of the box. Once youve done it once then you really dont need the instructions again as it was a lot easier than expected.
The carry bag is also a very good size as there is plenty of room to put everything back in. Its not like a tent bag where you take everything out then only half of it fits back.
We went for the small version as our son is still quite little. There isnt a great deal of head height probably just enough for him to sit up. If you wanted to use this as a play tent/sun shade Id probably go for the bigger one.

It is great value for money, spacious, well made and most imporatantly easy to put up and put down. It also has a very useful self-inflating mattress that comes as standard. Our friends have a Nomad travel cot and we did a test drive with it before buying anything. It was obviously well made but a real fiddle to put up - just like a mini tent with these telescopic poles to insert. Nightmare! The best thing about the NScessity is that once taken out of its bag it just pings into shape. No hassle erecting anything. And putting it down isnt difficult once you get the hang of it. Its lightweight too with a handy shoulder bag to carry it in. All in all a brilliant buy for anyone wanting a good quality, robust travel cot. 5 stars.
