The M520s are very light for pedals in their price range weighing in at just 380 grams a pair. XTR pedals are only lighter by 55 grams per pair and cost around four times as much. The pedals are really considered to be mountain bike pedals but if you have shoes with the correct cleat system there is no reason why they cant be fitted to any bike. In fact if you have both a mountain bike and a road bike and you want to use the same pair of shoes on both the cleat system that this pedal uses is the one to go for.
