CAN I CONNECT AN AERIAL TO MY NOTEBOOK TO IMPROVE WIRELESS NETWORKING? Probably not, unless there is a socket for an external antenna (unlikely, but check the manual)
What you CAN do is to disable the internal wireless adaptor and add one on that has better performance - either a USB dongle type, or a plug-in PCMCIA card - either of which is available with pop-up antenna for challenging conditions. What do you think?
