Should be no reason why not. if you are getting a picture from your output on your ferguson and select the proper input on your sony, you will know if your picture comes up on your TV it should be fine. You will not do any damage. Give it a go and see. check your input really is an input and not an output Only the input for a sony I think and i`m going from my sony HDD recorder here which is labelled L2 and the recorder detects the incoming signal but some recorders might be L3 or L4.
