How big do you want the noise to be?
If you decide to use an iPod you will probably need to have an amplifier somewhere. Cheap (computer) speakers often come with an amplifier built-in, but the sound quality would not be good enough for a purist. If you want a high-quality sound on, say, 100W HiFi speakers then you will need to have a high quality, high-power amplifier to drive them.
Some good-quality amplifiers will have multiple inputs and then you could connect your iPod and also a radio-tuner, CD player, maybe even a TV / DVD.
Like so many things, there is no one correct answer to your question. The best answer depends on what you are hoping to achieve.

You need a bluetooth receiver, a company called Enjoy produce one at a resonable cost do a search for `Enjoy BT-139 Bluetooth Receiver` - and that will take you to a web site that will get you one. I paid about £20, but the price varies. The receiver comes with a 2 pin plug charger, you will have to source a car lighter adapter to use it in your car, but I`m sure that`s possible. It works really well through any piece of audio equipment with an audio input, either through the the RCA cable or a RCA to stereo jack. It`s a pity the mians charger doesn`t come with a car adapter. One big point to consider - the bluetooth on the ipod touch DOES NOT WORK with any bluetooth device I`ve tried it with.(A common problem Apple seem to ignore, if you get your ipod touch bluetooth to work I`ll be impressed. My Nokia phone works with the `Enjoy` receiver really well.
