I just brought the LG 32LG4000 32” widescreen with built in DVD player, freeview and it is HD ready, a really nice TV. Do compare online as this model varies in price between £399.00 and £ 529.00.

whats is dvd recorder?
A dvd recorder is a box (usually including freeview) that you can connect to your tv and aerial to view and record programs.
It will have a program guide for you to select programs for it to record via the dvd drive. You can then watch these back whenever you want.
If you get one with a hard drive built in then you record to either the hard drive or disk; or copy programs to the dvd to save storage space and keep or share your programs. Agree or Disagree?

DVD players can be connected one of 4 ways;
Component Video - a three wire component cable, produces the best results but make sure both TV adn DVD player are compatible
S-video - Next best thing, most TV`s should have it.
Scart cable - most common in the UK, and will give a very good connection.
In general, as long as you have a common port on both your TV and DVD player, you should be fine. Agree or Disagree?

can i record video to dvd from a ferguson fvd100-01 dvd player to a sony vrd-mc3 dvd burner using a 3 phono plugs to scart cable av lead connected to the rgb out - composite in/out scart connection on the ferguson dvd player?
Should be no reason why not. if you are getting a picture from your output on your ferguson and select the proper input on your sony, you will know if your picture comes up on your TV it should be fine. You will not do any damage. Give it a go and see. check your input really is an input and not an output Only the input for a sony I think and i`m going from my sony HDD recorder here which is labelled L2 and the recorder detects the incoming signal but some recorders might be L3 or L4. Which portable DVD player for children on long journey?
I like the 9" screen on the Wharfedale PD08900/05, its easy to use and perfect in the car. The picture and sound quality are really good and also doubles as a digital picture frame.

If it has the correct connectioon then you should be able to use it, if unsure ring your manufacturer, they will be able to tell you for certain. Agree or Disagree?

It is all to do with what size picture your tv and dvd player show and weather they are widescreen or not, check in your manual and it will tell you. Agree or Disagree?
