there could be many problems to cause the computer not to see the hardrive if its during windows xp setup then its because modern hard drives use a connection called SATA and the installation for windows xp sp1 doesn`t have SATA drivers built in so you have to copy your installation cd but integrate the drivers first google it to find out how to do it   What do you think?
