This is a great little camcorder for the casual/not too serious user. Just drop it in your pocket take it with you and with one click of a button start recording and the results are really not that bad.
Windows Media Player recognises the file format and it adds a whole new dimension to taking the dog for a walk or capturing that not to be missed birthday or christmas party.Get yourself some 2700 ma hour re-chargeable batteries and theyll be good enough for 40 minutes or so of recording (takes x2)and with a 2GB SD card which are as cheap as chips now this camcorder will give you hours of pleasure.Just one small point to watch --the battery cover is not the easiest of things to remove. It needs quite a lot of downward pressure on the cover whilst sliding it towards yourself.Apart from that its a great little piece of kit.

The camcorder is easy to use out of the box and is exceptionally small. However the main issue is the battery usage. The camera was only able to record about a minute of footage at a time before shutting down due to lo-batt warnings and in some cases did not save the footage. After several battery changes, it came down to using my mobile to record in the end. Very dissappointing.

Be careful. The file type is .afs ... so if youre using a Mac you need to get a separate file converter (they seem to be about $25) before you can use the videos from this camera in iMovie. All the blurb and packaging says MPEG - which would infer you can use the files directly in iMovie projects - but that isnt the case. Frankly, I think the product is misrepresented. (And by the way, the first camera I ordered was dead on arrival ... so had to wait for a replacement. Not so great an experience overall).

Bought this for my stepson, and hes very pleased with it. His band are recording their first album for their new record label, and he came home for the Easter break with a load of clips, most of them taken inside and all very clear (it comes with an AV lead so you can play clips through your TV). The resolution is fine for video; its about the same as standard analogue TV pictures. It doesnt look jerky either.

He did find that the batteries that came with the camera lasted about 5 minutes, but proper AAs and/or rechargeables have been fine; its not a fault with the camera. The fact that it uses standard AAs is very handy.

It also feels a bit flimsy, but I think thats at least partly just due to a lack of moving parts. And at this price, you cant complain.
