My wife bought me this Camcorder for Christmas in 2004. I have only used it on a handful of occasions. We took it out on holiday to Thailand in December and half way through the trip, when trying to record the viewfinder was blank as was the LCD screen.

The camera now records a blank picture but records sound OK. After searching about on Google I have discovered that this is a very common fault with this camera and it is the CCD chip that has failed. Hundreds of others have suffered teh same fault and there is a class action being brought against Samsung at present. It costs about $150 to get the camera repaired. I dont think Ill waste my money, neither should you.

well i found it unsatisfactory the resolution is poor.
