Well I was looking for my first dedicated video camera and chose this.
When it arrived the power supply in the box was in two parts with all the electrical bits exposed.
Rather than send it back as I have electrical qualifications I re-sealed it but there was not excuse for this.
The camera works, its quite clumsy and slow.
Worst of all it uses a video codec that has to be installed on the computer playing the videos, this codec ffdshow makes for small files but makes editing very hard indeed.

Thats if like me you want to upgrade on a budget but can withstand the somewhat niggly & basic features. For less than £180 you are not getting super high quality pics or film & i didnt expect this. What you are getting is a perfectly acceptable high defenition camcorder with great pics & very reasonable quality recordings. The camileo is palm friendly with strap for stabilization. The cam is very easy to use, comes with a remote control, hdmi & component cable & a user friendly disc to read all of the features on your pc. However, there are those niggly features i mentioned earlier. The video seems to jerk when panning around. Also when pointed at direct light; eg, sun, the film produces a pink stripe accross the screen so this should obviously be avoided. Serious filmers should look elsewhere if they want proffessional video. For what i paid i am reasonably happy as cameras in this range are twice the price. To summarise ; Features: 6/10, Video quality: 6.5/10, Pic quality: 8/10, Price: 9/10, Overall: 7/10.
