| KENWOOD | KDCPSW9531 | Not many reviews out for this product, so I thought I would I would write one. Having owned many headsets before I have found Kenwood to be one of the best brands. This is definately a good choice, once you get your head around all the features. The display is good, not reflective so doesnt blind you when the sun catches it, its got a 4 stage tilt so if your unit mounts low you can still see it. The features are very good, 3 pre outs running at 5v if you turn the internal amp off, cut of frequencies and their effect on different amplitudes are customisable. Usual kenwood sub-off included, and other sound filtering options. There is even a crazy feature that lets you input the distance from the unit to individual speakers, front, rear and sub. The unit then adjusts the timing so the sound reaches your ears at the same time! Crazy! Bad points, in my opinion the volume nob isnt long enough, hard to grab hold of when driving. The worst one of all is that the face shows every fingerprint, which you will get a lot of 1 All in all a great unit, for the price its unbeatable.

| Alpine | CDA-9812RB | i own the alpine cda9812rb.... i purchased this stereo from halfords 3 years ago. so far the stereo has been through 3 cars with me inlcluding two of them that were total write offs..... the alpine has been that reliable with me that it survived one of the crashes when the dash had ripped all the way down the middle and the blessed alpine was still intact. i am today just about to have it fitted in my scooby impreza and would reccomend this stereo as the mid range alpine stereo to buy. this stereo was 300 quid new when i bought it so even cheaper now i shud imagine

| Blaupunkt | Calgary MP35 | I tried this unit as a last attempt to find a CD player for a car that I owned a while back that was lowered, so much so that it had seen 3 previous CD players off in next to no time. I have to say this was and still is the only CD player I have needed, I think I`ve had it in 2 different car`s since and I like it so much I wouldn`t dream of leaving it in a car I`m selling! I like things I can work out without instructions, and while this unit has a very comprehensive range of effects and options at the fingertips, it is an extremely user friendly beast! Now I use the word beast meaningfully, this unit can drive multiple speakers, is easy to rig upto other equipment, and sounds spot on! Never, ever skips or misses a beat... no matter how low the car! Even on the roughest unmaintained roads, it hold the beat true. Obviously the mp3 disc reader integrated is great too, you can burn a simple iso disk and keep your favourite albums/tracks on just a handful of CD`s, far more practical than some lumbering cd changer in the boot (which don`t handle low cars well either) The unit is smart looking in Black with a cool adjustable brighness lighting phase. You can also rig MP3 players upto this unit with (I think) optional wiring (my unit didn`t come with the cable, but it was 2nd hand on purchase, so maybe it does come complete) I have not had any problems with the calgary in over 2 years, in my opinion, it really is one exceptional piece of kit. | | DJ ZITAM | 28/08/2008 20:16:28 |

I wanted to replace my junk casette player and get something that has the best features for what I need, which is hooking up to a phone, most cd formats, auxillary for any friend`s mp3 and this product meets every one of my needs. Installation was quite simple with a kit that is very cheap and once the installation was done was when I was impressed as well as anyone who came in my car or even heard the music from the outside. Sound quality is noticeably better now and the best feature that I use 95% of the time is the bluetooth connection. Without even taking my phone out of my pocket, I can stream my music to the car and not have to worry about my phone ringing and not hearing it because of the calling features as well. | H & B | CA5555i | Having searched high and low for a car stereo that has USB front input I finally settled on this little number. Whilst the big name brands seem reluctant to use this obvious technology some unknown makers are producing some convincing units. I can’t really think of anything this unit is lacking, what more could you need. USB front input, CD player with ability to play MP3’s RDS radio with traffic data, great sound and control. Installation was a breeze with the universal connectors on the back, its all standard stuff. I needed a line out for my amp and this has two, one for front and one for rear speakers. I used a 1 gig USB stick drive which allows around ten albums all at 192kps compression. This worked with no problems at all. I have not tried the SD/MMC card slot but im sure this will be the same. The unit design is not ground breaking and will not win awards but its well made and smart with mainly blue and red lighting. The main concern for me was the MP3 controls. There are a number of ways to select tracks from the USB drive. Forward and back buttons, next 10 track buttons and the ability to search song titles. It would have been nice to have buttons to forward to next folder, instead this is done buy pressing one button twice and then the volume once, this then allows folder selection (a bit tricky and does require eyes off the road). In summary it’s probably the best bit of audio kit I have bought for under £100 and would highly recommend this unit. Pros – excellent value, excellent features, well made smart design, great sound quality and adjustment. Cons – can’t think of anything aside from the minor MP3 folder selection option.

Plenty of functions, great functions for the high and low bandwith frequencies. This head unit is basically the base to start a good SPL system. This head unit is for an enthusiast who appreciates good design, great sound quality and wants more out of their car stereo - other than silly flashing lights with dolphins swimming around on the screen. It`s got a dedicated 4v pre out for a subwoofer amplifier - also its got pre-out`s for front & rear speaker amplifiers. 60wx4 built in amp, RDS, BBE, V-Drive, Ai-net changer control, Bass Engine pro and Max tune pro. Oh yeah, its got a remote control too! Loads of other specs - too much to list. It still looks as fresh as the day i installed it. A timeless head unit - good design never ages.

It does it`s job very well, which is play music with authority NOT entertain your four year old with its flashing multicoloured nonsense. Kiddies, Mr Flash Boyracer etc - buy your player elsewhere, this is too good for you! ;)

| PIONEER | DEH-P4500R | This has to be the best CD/Tuner yet - The CD player and Tuner are top quality items in their own right, but the killer with this is the Bluetooth integration. I have a Motorola A100, once you pair your phone (you can have up to 5 phones plus a `guest` phone) send your contacts folder to the radio! - yes and when someone in your contacts list phones you - yep it mutes the sound and shows the name of who is calling. The microphone that comes with the kit is not HiFi, but is more than sufficient for the task. The included steering wheel remote is also useful, as you can brows the phone list from this as well. Find your contact and just press the big control button to dial - dead easy. Oh, and you can add 6 of your most often contacts to the 6 preset buttons on the facia - one press and you are away. This is a superb bit of kit and well worth the £320 I paid for it. Would recomend this to anyone looking for a CD head unit and needing blutooth for a phone. | | Colin | 05/11/2005 09:29:36 |

I got it for £99 with free fitting (only took 25mins)and I expected having problems due to the severe price cutting on this product but up to now I cannot fault the unit. It is easy to use, the sound is superb and the radio reception is brilliant. There are lots of other features and tweaks(if you`re in to that sort of thing)to keep you amused and the unit itself would not look out of place in any car. Doesnt have flashing lights everywhere but sound is awesome and has all the functions you would expect plus more - Halfords also gave free fitting and was done within 25 mins of purchase - CD player doesnt jump!! - And I live near some nasty hump back railway bridges - Was expecting CD to glitch and jump - it didnt!!!! - Very, Very happy - nice system with all the quality and functions you would expect from JVC - If you want ten background colours and flashing lights everywhere dont buy this - But this system will appeal to boy racers to my Grandad alike - Easy to understand - Does the job and more - and does it well - very good value for the money - Highly recommended | | JVC KDG311 CAR | 25/07/2005 11:30:05 |
