BritaxHi-liner Booster Seat- SunsetI have this seat in my car my daughter was only 2 1/2 when we got this one (her weight was fine for this one.) I like it because there will be no arguing over removing the back of the seat (as you cant)for the side protection. I have now to invest in another one after rtecommending it to 3 other who have bought this product. This is for my 17 month old son. His weight and height are perfect for this model. (although not age) Recommend this to any one and is a very resonable price, but do check for deals!+++++ 5 out of 5Hayley21/03/2008 13:21:04

BabystartMulti-Recline Car SeatI have been using this seat for my son for the past 3 years. It has been great, and I have only just bought him a backed booster seat so that our new arrival can use this seat. It is easy to install, adjustable for each stage (3 stages of recline, rear-facing to forward-facing, two different heights for the shoulder straps). It is great value for money and has lasted well. The only drawback has been in keeping it clean and raisin/crumb-free. The cover has washed well, but it is a bit difficult to clean out the hard plastic parts of the chair. 5 out of 5Pip12/03/2008 11:56:29

Maxi CosiPriori XP Car Seat- PotterThis is the best car seat that money can buy in my eyes, it feels very strong, I have it for my son and you can`t even move it once it`s in the car. It also lies down for when he`s asleep and has done him well. Busy hunting for a pink one for my daughter now. 5 out of 5kristy18/08/2007 08:57:35

BritaxClub Class ExtraI have had this car seat for four years. My son used it from aged approx 9 months until he was two and a half with no complaints. My two year old daughter is now in it and I am happy with it. It feels very secure in the car and the reclining facility is very useful. As we have one in each car and therefore never move them I cannot comment on ease of swapping between cars. 5 out of 5Carolyn27/11/2006 10:25:51

My mates used theirs so the could look out at the views as we drove.it felt like my potty, nice and warm and didnt move as we went around big corners. I am 3 and highly recommend this 5 out of 5neville longbottom06/10/2006 07:45:59

LITTLE SHIELDtraveller car seatAfter three children and various brands, I have found the holy grail of car seats.

This is a must for any parent concerned about the risks of neck injury from adult seat belts. (A child of 8 died recently in Northern Ireland following a road accident. He was in a standard booster seat in the rear and suffered a broken neck.)

The Little Shield `traveller` (not to be confused with the cheaper molded polystyrene 123 care seat from Little Shield) has massive advantages over its competitors.

1. It is comfortable! So says my five-year-old and three-year-old who love it. 2. The traveller has an extendable neck support which allows your child to nod off on long journeys without their head rolling to one side and their face getting stuck to the window. 3. The head support includes a seat belt restraint keeping the adult belt at exactly the right height and away from your little one`s neck. 4. It has retractable, sturdy arm rests which make it look and feel like an aeroplane seat. 5. It folds in half (and locks) for chucking in the boot. 6. It has some sort of breathable fabric so the kids don`t stick to it on hot days. 7. It has a hinged back as opposed to a floppy removable one like the Graco. This fills the space behind your child`s body allowing them to sit comfortably upright in line with adults instead of slumping backwards in a huge back seat with the booster bottom skidding out from under them. 8. Although it can be fitted in seconds using a normal seat belt, it has an integral pouch in the rear which permanently houses the instruction booklet. 9. It is strong, sturdy and chunky and very attractive to both kids and adults. (When you look into your car it looks like sporty bucket seats have been specially added!)

In short - after trying all of the other top brands, my wife and I finally discovered the Little Shield Traveller about two years ago in Index and now we have four of them which we share between the kids` nanny, my car and my wife`s car. We will probably buy another couple in the next few months now that the baby has turned one! 05/08/2006

Mamas and PapasFlexsystem Car SeatThis product is really very good. If you don`t have an airbag in the front you can put your child in their seat and if they happen to nod off you can recline the seat so that when you go around corners, their heads don`t wobble. A far more comfy ride when they DO go to sleep. I am wanting to buy this again for my youngest as she is now of an age to be able to use it. Affordable and lasts for a long time as the age limit is from 9 months to 11 years. If anyone knows of where I can purchase one again (as I am having difficulty in buying it) please post something on here so I can see.

BritaxCruiser PlusGood design, simple and relatively cheap. It is easy to use and both of ours have been very durable. In my opinion is safer than heavier seats because it is so light. It uses the cars own buckle, which is out of reach of the child so they can`t let themselves out. 5 out of 5Anon27/08/2005 11:02:19

BritaxDuo Plus Isofix Car SeatThis seat came out top of the group in the Which safety report where they tested both front and side crashes. It"s also one of the most expensive at around £155-£180. My review is based solely on the Which report, but I thought that would be useful to all. 5 out of 5Joanna05/11/2004 10:30:59

GracoJunior Hi-Back BoosterYes, I would recommend this car seat. My son is 3 and a quarter and it"s fine for him, and I hope it"ll last him a good few years. We even took the booster seat without the back on holiday to use in the hire car and it was fine. It"s light weight, easy to separate from the back rest, washable covers. He likes the drinks holders, and they are also suitable for toys, food etc etc of course!! It seems to offer him good support round the head, and appears comfy and is an excellent price, especially compared with other similar seats on the market. In fact we are buying another one tomorrow for our other car. It"s also easy to take in and out so it can go in the boot no problems. 5 out of 5Liams mum05/11/2004 10:30:20

Maxi CosiPriori XP Car Seat- JustinI have little experience of other carseats for this age group but I am seriously impressed with the seat that I have just bought. Reasons why? 1. Best buy in July 2004 Which! magazine 2. Excellent safety score in Which! 3. Feels really solid in situ. It has a tensionner to make the car seat belt REALLY tight 4. Car seat tensioner to make sure that everytime you put your baby in it is firm 5. Little hooks to put the car seat belts out of the way while getting baby in and out - this is excellent as you don"t have to then fiddle to get them from underneath your child! 6. reclines for sleeping. Definitely recommend this car seat 5 out of 5olthomas06/07/2004 10:23:56

Maxi CosiPriori Car SeatAwesome car seat. The padding on shoulders is really nice and keeps the straps flat. The strap that is used for tightening and loosening the halter is so helpful. The recline bar is quite handy too.

I can't say enough about this seat. We love it!!!

BritaxCruiser PlusLightweight, easy to use, inexpensive - and seems far more secure than my previous Britax Eclipse, which was huge and cumbersome in comparison. I'm sure this is because it uses the cars own seat belt to secure the child, as opposed to the separate harness of the Eclipse. My 2 year old can now climb in.5 out of 5Rob Dadd06/03/2003 11:03:55

GracoCosmicThis seat is very safe because it has additional straps which fasten the carseat into the back of the front seat when fitted rearward facing as well as using the cars own seatbelt to fasten it. You can use this rearward facing at least until child is 2 and then remove additional straps and turn it around to use with or without the harness. The only thing i didnt like in this seat was that the harness tightens and loosens right under the seat where its very hard to reach and tighten tight enough. 4 out of 5Anon27/02/2008 09:17:31

BritaxRenaissance Car SeatExcellent product. Not easily portable but safe and comfy, has a stabiliser underneath the seat to improve safety. Mine lasted for my two oldest and about to use it for my third (8 years on)! No doubt mine is an older version but in theory product should only have improved. 4 out of 5Dee04/02/2008 10:01:06

BritaxTrio Car SeatMy friend uses this seat in her partners car for her 2 year old, and she loves it. It is easy to install and when her daughter is asleep the headrest keeps her head up. BritaxHorizon Boostermy niece uses this seat, she has been using it since she was three. she isnt very tall but this seat raised her up really well, so that seat belt is in the right place. as over seats she has used are not as good the seat belt would be right up against her neck. but this one she loves. 4 out of 5kylie02/04/2007 14:25:19

BritaxKid Car Seat- HessianI put my daughter into this aged 3 years as I didn`t have room in my car for all the car seats (new born twins) and she loved it. Only bad point is that in the summer it makes her hot and sweaty. It has fitted 5 different cars and adjusts really well. She is now 4 and a half and still loves it. Even when she falls asleep it keeps her upright and comfortable. Would recommend this car seat. 4 out of 5Barley Craft05/11/2005 09:30:00

BritaxEclipseHuge, heavy, fits my car (Audi A4)well, but now my son has reached just over 2 years old his feet are jammed up against the back of the front seat and I've had to buy another britax seat which sits lower on the cars seat and gives him loads more room.

The Eclipse is very high to carry a heavy 2 year old into - if you own a huge 4x4 or a big volvo estate it's fine, if you don't (like me) this seat won't last you more than a couple of years before you need to get rid and buy something smaller, lighter and easier!

SILVERCross Explorer Car Seat- Oxford GreyI have the sport version(same design our is just black) of this seat for my 9 month old daughter. My husband and I bought it a month ago and are already looking to replace it and return this seat to Silver cross. The seat looks good and seems comfortable enough once our daughter is in it but getting her into the seat is another matter. First of all you have to struggle to get the buckle and straps out of the way so you can get the child in the seat then comes the worst bit trying to tighten the straps ina nightmare and we have to use brut force to do so as the tensioner at the front of the seat doesn`t work. With orus we have to reach under the seat and pull the straps tight and thenpull the tensioner so that the straps are straight, it takes me around 5 minutes to load Mo into the seat not good if its raining. It was easy enough to fit but the instruction manual was useless and we had to pretty much work it out for ourselves. Apparently we shoudl be able to use the seat in our car without the rear tether but the seat wobbled so much we are using the tether and it is still a bit wobble. This seat is badly designed and I would not recommend any one buying it. Just hope we can get a refund. 1 out of 5Dominique Lewis20/01/2008 17:30:39

MAMAS and PAPASalto car seatNot suitable for toddlers. As from our experiences our 2 year old can easily climb out from the seat whilst driving. Doesnt offer support for toddlers when they are asleep. A very well made car seat for a child only. Mamas and PapasPrimo ViaggioWe bought this car seat to go with the Pliko P3 Pramette thinking that M&P were a good company & could be trusted. WRONG!! This car seat is DOWNRIGHT DANGEROUS as it is FAR TOO UPRIGHT for a newborn. No matter how tight the straps are done up, our baby daugter`s head slumped downwards & sidewards to the extent that her head was trapped under the SIP headrest! I had to stop on numerous occasions due as I was afraid she could not breathe I am a regular poster on the Bounty forum and to date am aware of 20 other people who have bought this seat with the same problem. M&P customer services are terrible - we have now changed to a Graco seat that is much safer!! AVOID THIS SEAT!!!! 1 out of 5BunchesBunny05/08/2007 08:22:19

Little ShieldMulti-Recline Car SeatI work on the childseat dept in Halfords. A customer bought this seat in Argos and was experiencing problems with it. It's a very flimsy seat that doesn't come with instructions, other than the diagram on the side. To fit it forward facing, the car's safety belt actually rubs on the foam of the seat!!! Very unsafe. Not recommended AT ALL! Stick to a well known make (Britax, Maxi Cosi, Graco, Chicco, Mamas and Papas etc), and make sure it fits your car!1 out of 5Chloe13/01/2004 09:38:34

GracoAutobabyI find this babyseat very unsuitable, it does not fit in my car as the seatbelt is not long enough and i own a family mondeo car so i have to use the base when i use the base my sons head falls forwards when asleep as the base sits on a tilt (my son is now 5 months old). BabystartMulti-Recline Car SeatI recently bought this car seat for my 9 month old baby the seat was placed into my car (ford mondeo) in the forward facing position to find that afeter 3 days of use the quick release clip to loosen and tighten the child harness snapped and I was unable to get home without buying another seat as the child harness was stuck in a slack position , on taking the seat out of the car I found that the car seat has damaged my seat belt in the back of the car this is very annoying as now I have had to pay out for a new seat and a new seat belt within the car, as any parent can see this is a very unsatisfying and dangerous product and would strongly advise that no one buys the seats for any child. 0 out of 5Anon06/01/2008 10:50:20

Mamas and PapasPrimo ViaggioHi - I have this car seat (Mamas & Papas side impact protection) prima viaggio car seat - (approx 0 - 12 months) the seat is more upright than the normal ones - however - the seat is straight and is not curved at the back - the child is therefore in a more healthy position for their spine as it is in a straight position - as you will be aware no doubt that child car seats are not to be used for over 2 hours a day due to the childs spine (curvature of the spine could occur - in the standard type baby car seats that are like bucket seats). The new base has an adjustable tilt level so you should be able to alter it so baby is in a more comfortable position and is not as forward - this obviously depends of course on what car you have and how the car seat fits into your car. I agree that the position is a little upright for a baby but it is a safer position to travel in - in the event of an accident and it will keep you babys spine straight - the side impact on this particular is very good - when the car seat is positioned correctly in the car. I have had other car seats for my other 2 child and although they say side impact protection they are very exposed. I do actually like the Bebe confort creatis car seat which is like a helmet around them - but I found using this my baby used to get upset as after a couple of months she wanted to see what was going on it and could not see very well out of the creatis. I highly recommend this mamas & papas car seat (the NEWR SIDE IMPACT PROTECTION ONE) - not the old one that does not have the big headrest wrapped around their head. 0 out of 5Sally (mum to 3 young children) - & has tried19/11/2007 13:36:52
