The new Discovery 3 based on an all new platform chassis and bigger and better in every way than the previous model. Is a huge step ahead for the then Ford owned company, Its the king of 4x4s of the mid range. Its only inches shorter then the Range Rover and only a little cheaper to buy. This model the largest R/C car I have ever seen has more gadgets than any R/C car also. It has a full interior with opening doors which is another feature I have never seen. Most R/C cars have smoked windows to hide the mechanics so they look like mere toys. Even the bodyshell looks just like the Disco and is made from injection moulded plastic. Again Most R/CS have crude polymer bodies that look nothing like the real thing. This has full suspension and even lights and sounds which is a novelty but wil keep the Kids happy for hours. It does only have rear wheel drive unlike the real thing which will limit its traction. Build is flimsy due to its bulk so I dont think it will be long before doors come adrift. It also has a low ride height as the mechanics are under the chassis so it will only run on a flat surface. Another slight concern is that it has a Lead Acid battery pack instead of a safer Lithium, However with proper handling this shouldnt pose a risk to health. It has a re-chargable battery pack giving hours of fun in and outside the house. All in all this is a fantastic Toy/Model and if you have the room and the money to buy you wont be sorry. Shop around and this can be bought for as little as £40 on certain Auction sites !.
