| NORFROST | C6AEW | Same problems with the seal as mentioned by other reviewers. My freezer had a thermostat failure after only 22 months resulting in loss of contents (#300+ worth)including lots of home grown veg. My advice is to spend a little more and avoid this model altogether. | | Kashubiantyke | 07/07/2009 08:49:06 |

| NORFROST | C6AEW | I also have this model and experience a big frost build-up around the seal. Comet`s engineer said that this happens when the ambient temperature is low (mine is in the garage). He said that the material which is used to make the seal is inflexible when it is cold, and does not return to a position which makes an effective seal. So, it appears that I will have to constantly defrost around the seal in winter, and use extra energy! I can`t wait for summer! Some freezers divert a small amount of extracted heat, and distribute it around the seal, to keep it from hardening. From my experience, I suggest that buyers avoid it like the plague. | | Ernest Stead | 01/02/2009 13:27:42 |

| NORFROST | C6AEW | I`ve ordered the first one from Currys, it was delivered with a faulty seal.
This was replaced and 3 months later the same problem occured again. Be warned if you buy it. | | Simon | 14/11/2005 13:43:05 |

| NOVA SCOTIA | CF 389 | We also have had one of these for years and have only suffered a broken lid. Unable to source a new one so far. hinge | | John Oldham, | 07/07/2009 08:48:46 |

| NORFROST | C2EE | We have one of these freezers and it has been great. Now after 5 years the only snag is that a hinge has broken off. It is held on by four screws and is obviously easy to fix as long as I can get a replacement. But I cannot find a stockist. Any ideas? | | Micky Boy | 27/11/2008 09:03:46 |

| NOVA SCOTIA | CF 389 | We have one on these model freezers which we brought about 8/9 years ago. It is acompact model easily suited to any where in the home or garage with ideal storage capacity for a young family. We have had no problem with it at all apart from loosing one of the feet when we moved house. Both my wife and I recommend it to anyone who is looking for and needs a compact freezer | | Michael Moore, Thrapston, UK | 27/01/2009 07:45:35 |

| NOVA SCOTIA | CF 389 | We have had one of these for around 10 years and the only problem we have had is the lid hinges seem to become brittle and break off. I have not been able to source spare hinges. I can certainly say we have had our monies worth from it and wouldnt hesitate to recommend it.

| CANDY | CCF200 WHITE | This model when delivered worked for two weeks, after which a large crack developed in the outer casing. The fridge was exchanged for a new one which worked for three weeks when the compressor siezed,a claim was made under the manufacturers guarantee after an undrtaking that the engineer would call after a time differential of four days.I am still waiting to hear from Candy as to what they propose to do. | Whirlpool | AFG5126M-C | I purchased a Whirlpool chest freezers earlier this year from the internet, unfortunately like an idiot I have mislaid proof of purchase. The lid has lost its seal so the cold air escapes and the top layer of food goes soft and the rest ices up. I am in a bit of a fix as Whirlpool say this is not a common problem but will fix it if I can prove when I bought it!!! Now what? any ideas please email me on g.savell@ntlworld.com Thanks | | Anon | 18/08/2007 08:59:56 |

| NORFROST | C4CFW White | Having purchased this freezer from my local electrical dealer shortly before christmas Iwas appalled when it broke down early january 2006. Despite numerous calls to the retailer and a visit by an engineer i am still without a satisfactory conclusion. The manufacturers seem to have a very `blazey` attitude despite the engineer stating the freezer requires regassing. This may be a very good product but in my experiernce I have found that the customer service from the manufacturer and the retailer very poor.I may be able to post another review when and if i get a replacement, maybe in time for next yeatrs festivities | | livingston scotland | 02/02/2006 09:26:33 |
