Go$9.11 A Tribute To The Movielife star
The Movielife is the fourth artist that I've chosen to pay tribute to over the course of the last eight years. The surprising part of this creative process is that all four compilations were constructed for drastically different reasons. The Blink 182 tribute was designed to be a launching point for Pacific Ridge Records, which at the time had only one other release. The Tom Petty tribute was a dedication to my lifelong friend Matt Whitney, who just so happened to be a Classic Rock aficionado and the former co-owner of Pac Ridge. The Alkaline Trio Tribute was established with the idea of it being massive in scope. I wanted to work with bands that I never anticipated I would be able to collaborate with. The album turned out to be a massive 39 track operation that involved countless bands that I never imagined I would be able to work with. Now I've come to my latest project and naturally have a brand new inspiration. That inspiration stems from an attempt to show my respect for the band that initiated me into the Punk scene. They were also my introduction to Drive Thru records. A label that was tremendously influential in my decision to start my own company. The Movielife also happened to be the first band I ever saw perform live. The moment they stepped on stage and began playing 'Walking On Glass' was the moment I fell in love with the genre that I've ultimately decided to work with for close to ten years now. Who knows where I would be, or what I would be doing without that inspirational night. Overall my goal is to try and convey to others the raw emotion The Movielife stirred in me all those years ago by having a few terrific artists recreate a handful of their songs for a new generation of listeners. All in the hope that at least one more person feels inclined to chase their dreams. Amazon Marketplace
