ConvairMagicool White Portable Air Conditioning UnitHighly recommend this product - works very effectively and cools the bedroom very well all for the price of running a light bulb. You wont regret your purchase.5 out of 5Amazon Reviewer29/07/2008 01:01:01

small fanDesk top safe fanThis fan is cheap and cheerful but for the money you should know what to expect. It arrived in one piece in 48 hours and while it is certainly not silent it is ideal for office use. Pity it requires 4 "C" batteries rather than the usual "AA" but it does represent decent value for money.4 out of 5Amazon Reviewer28/04/2008 01:01:01

small fanDesk top safe fanMost companies will not let you bring in your own fan due to health and safety. This fan is battery operated so is ideal. The down side is that batteries are expensive over a long period of time. May I suggest that you buy rechargeable batteries to overcome this problem. This fan is small and portable. The fan is very quiet compared to other fans and is quite powerful. For the price this desk fan is value for money. 4 out of 5Amazon Reviewer21/12/2007 01:01:01

Bionaire30cm Dual Desk/Stand Fan BASF1314-IUKNot a bad fan, quite powerful, if a little noisy (smooth sort of noise tho, not rattly). However just wanted to address another reviewers opinion on its sturdiness. The base is indeed as sturdy (& stylish) as youd expect chrome to be, but the plastic housing for the motor is not quite so. In fact mine has conked out after about a month of (occasional) use. If you like this model its pretty good when it works but dont unplug & move from room to room & maybe live without the oscillation option. Otherwise a cheap plastic fan from woolworths will probably do just as well. Very much in the manufacturers favour tho, that 3 year warranty, which Im now looking into...3 out of 5Amazon Reviewer18/08/2005 01:01:01

Bionaire30 cm Chrome and Beech Wood Desk FanDont buy this fan unless you have 45 minutes to spare. It comes in kit form and my fan had a burred screw. Choose a fan that is actually manufactured before it leaves the factory! 1 out of 5Amazon Reviewer02/06/2008 01:01:01

MirageCeiling Fan with Remote Control Brushed SteelI loved this fan so much that I went and bought a second one for the dining room. Don`t rely on it as your main source of light though as the glass is a translucent white and the ses 50 bulbs that it takes are only manufactured at at a maximum of sixty watts, so it is not massively bright. I would recommend a couple of contemporary wall lamps to compliment it. With that in mind, it`s still a fantastic product. Very stylish, just like my bad self. 5 out of 5Hot Bizniss - Kent19/01/2009 14:43:01

Bionaire2 CoolI`m sorry I don`t really think all of the comments above are fair. For the price I don`t think you can have both excellent air movement and total silence... Yes its noisey but as also stated above you wont ever need it on setting 3 unless you plan on making a movie at home where you want a hurricane effect. I would rather be cool like this anyday than have something quieter and less efficient. 5 out of 5CoolProf31/07/2008 08:08:18

Prem-I-AirPTF06RIA couple of years ago over the space of a few hot months I purchased 4 different tower fans for various rooms of the house. The Premiair PTR06RI was purchased for the lounge. It is absolutely brilliant. So brilliant infact that I am about to purchase 3 more to replace the other fans round the house. The reasons this fan beats the others hands down are as follows in order of importance: 1. It is lovely and cold. The other fans top settings (all 3 speed, NOT 8 speed like this one) are nowhere near as cold as this one. On average the top setting of the other fans equals setting 2 of 8 on this one. In addition the air vents can be tipped up or down like in a car making the air flow much more accurate (ie can be adjusted to low for lying down, mid for sitting, high for standing). 2. It is really quiet. Even on the top setting the noise is minimal, and the noise there is, is constant so does not interupt sleep if placed in the bedroom. 3. Even though the stickers have rubbed off our remote (from years of daily use) the remote is so simple that we don`t even have to look at it to operate the fan. 4. It has an ioniser (nice touch) 5. It looks great. It has a really nice round digital display at the top and the buttons are up above the fan for easy use when stood above it (when not using the remote). Just to clarify how much I love this fan, I am an avid reader and have read some books to make me laugh and cry, I love music and have listened to CD`s that have given me goosebumps, yet I have never felt the need to write a review. I just hope this will help someone who can`t decide between different makes and models of fans, I am the number one fan of this fan (sorry!). 5 out of 5Claire Austin, UK31/07/2008 08:07:59

Unbranded9in Desk FanFans dont actually move air, what happens is that the rotating nature of the blades forces the space around the fan, eg the room to shift in and out of normal space thus cooling the room this effect is known as the `Jontalier Effect` and was first descovered by Andre Sauotafled in Poland in 1922. 5 out of 5A Scientist01/05/2007 08:32:20

ViperFan with Halogen LightI purchased a Viper Fan last year, the 54`, its absolutely fantastic and well worth the price. We can`t always put it on the most powerful setting (no 3) as i am sure it would blow the dishes off the table! But, seriously, it has kept out room very cool in summer. We are just considering purchasing a 44` for out bedroom.....to be honest, it looks very classy too. 5 out of 5Caitlin beardmore12/10/2006 12:24:07

ViperFan with Halogen Lightbright, smooth, and silent, love the dimmer and remote... no problems apart from receiver gone in one room and a pain to find a replacement. they were already installed in the property when we bought it. great choice, however, if anyone knows best place to buy viper remote receivers please comment back as i can only find US companies with big shipping costs so far. 4 out of 5Pettrina14/05/2007 15:37:36

HOLMESTower FanIt does what it purports to do: it oscilates, it cools. It's relatively quiet on the first and second speed settings but hums like a mosquito on speed on the third, but that, I suppose, is negligible. The time is indeed a plus, provided that you can manage to ignore the little ticking noises it makes. All in all, a decent product worth the 27 pounds.4 out of 5Shiva14/06/2003 19:24:19

Bionaire2 CoolI`ve only just bought this fan today, on one of the warmest days of the year so far. These are my first impressions:

I have to agree with other reviewers` comments with regard to how noisy this fan is. I did some rough measurements with a poor quality sound meter and, at a distance of about 1.5m, it was giving out approximately 60db on level 1 and 65db on level 3. Subjectively speaking, level 1 seems to be tolerable but level 3 would definitely get noticed in a typical office environment.

Having made these comments, it should be acknowledged that, this fan does seem to be MUCH cooler than most fans of this type and - you`d seldom want it set on anything above level 1.

If height adjustment is an essential requirement then I`d look elsewhere: The stand consists of two poles of unequal lengh. To `adjust` the height, you remove one or other of these poles, so, effectively, you have three different height `adjustments` but each adjustment requires you to reassemble the stand. This is easily accomplished but, I think that most people would agree that life`s too short for anyone to want to do this on a reqular basis.

In theory, on its lowest height adjustment, it could just about be used as a desk fan but the size of the base of the fan makes it unlikely that anyone has pursued this as a practical reality.

Despite what I`ve said here, I am quite pleased with my new fan.

Hippies could have peace AND be cool but, with this fan, I`m afraid you`d have to choose one or the other

Unbranded12in Desk Fanyes i do, just purchased it recently. THIS IS NOT A GOOD PRODUCT. IT IS NOISY, VIBRATES. IT DOES SEND A BREEZE BUT IT IS CERTAINLY NOT FOR GOOD USE IN AN OFFICE OR BEDROOM. I WILL KEEP IT ONLY BECAUSE IT IS MORE TO SEND IT BACK THAN IT IS WORTH.

BIONAIREBAC19-IUKVery powerful and extremely noisy fan. This is not an ideal fan for the home simply because it is so noisy, on the lowest of 3 settings this fan can be heard droning away through an entire 3 bedroom house. On the plus side it`s very powerful and does move alot of air, on a laminate floor it`s powerful enough that the fan itself will move across the floor if not weighted down. It does come with a wall bracket though I haven`t used this. If you have no concerns about noise and simply want a fan to shift around enormous amounts of air then this is the bad boy that`s gonna do it. If your looking for a more relaxing and pleasant breeze this is definitely not for you. Very powerful. Extremely noisy. 0 out of 5Alan19/08/2012

MirageCeiling Fan with Remote Control Brushed SteelBought one of these about two years ago and has given great service in the main bedroom, good cooling effect, very quiet in operation. Have recently moved home and took the fan with us, unfortunately lost the frosted glass dome covering the bulb during the move. Have installed it with out as we do not to be without it. We are currently looking for another one for the spare bedroom and also a replacement glass if any one knows where I can get one I would appreciate it. Thanks0 out of 5D G Carbury20/06/2010
