I bought this sander for my Dad as I broke his old Black & Decker sander! I used it to sand down a very old step that must have had goodness knows how many layers of paint over the years - worked a treat and a lot better than the old one!
This item is very easy and comfy to use, and powerful enough for all domestic applications that i have used it for so far. The cirular disc attachment is very handy and more effective on open surfaces.
Only reason for not getting 5 stars is that the dust extractor doesnt work very well (but then i havent found one that does yet), and the edge tip is quite easily damaged - however i can be quite heavy-handed, and you can get replacements.
To sum up - this sander is great value for money, and a solid DIY must-have!
