PANASONICKXTCD455EBit long in the tooth now (mid 2008) but an excellent robust unit, with many features, even SMS if you subscribe to the service. Mono screen, but not a big deal to me. 200 memories, alpha-tagged like your mobile, is an excellent feature. Speaker phone too, so all in all, 98% for this one. 5 out of 5BHT27/08/2008 17:43:13

BinatoneBig Button 510 TwinI am amazed at the difference this cheap phone has made to our lives. We have the quin version (5 phones). Having big buttons makes all the difference, and it is easy to answer the phone, even bleary-eyed from sleep. The phone does everything you want, and nothing you don`t. We`re not disabled, and our family has people of all ages, including techno kids, but we all prefer this big phone to the fiddly ones we have had before. 5 out of 5big is beautiful18/08/2007 09:01:49

BINATONEIcarus 800 TripleI`ve had this model for approximately 6 years and it`s had a lot of use. No whistles and bangs but a great, reliable phone. It didn`t play up until three or four days ago ( handset buttons sticking), then I decided to try and clean inside!!! Now I`m looking for another one. Easy to use and the answerphone is really clear. 5 out of 5tinaray03/07/2007 09:05:09

CABLE & WIRELESSCWD1900I bought the Cable & Wireless CWD1900 twin handset package last year and have found it to be one of the best in a long line of cordless phones! BTCalypso 225 twinI have had it for a short time as well and have to say very easy to use. would recomend for the family so the wife does harras you on the functions of the phone.

good bonus is the card reader.

A shame that you cant have your own pictures loaded in and ringtones.

the higher models may do this so would say maybe for the bit of extra go for the slighly higher range.

BTCalypso 225 twinHad this phone system for about 6 months. It`s excellent and really easy to use. You have to register with BT for caller display and then it`s exactly like using a mobile phone. You can see exactly who is calling you and have the added bonus of adding all your contacts from your mobile phone sim card. The kids love it too because of the games. I also like the fact that you can ring the other handsets in the house and speak to them. Very happy. 5 out of 5Jacquie22/09/2006 11:43:29

PANASONICKXTCD775EHave got the twin pack of this phone (777E). Tried BT On Air range (rubbish sound quality). Tried SAMSUNG SPR7000 which were ok but too small and fiddly to use as a home phone.

The 775E is great, packed full of features and has good sound quality and range as well. Maybe a bit larger and heavier than some but what do you expect with a built in speaker phone in the handset!!??

All in all a very practical and well made bit of kit!

BINATONEMD2020 QUADOkay, so I was standing in the shop scratching my head with a puzzled look on my face. I just couldn`t work out why the Binatone MD2020 Quad pack of 4 cordless digital phones were half the price of the equivalent BT-branded phones. Could it be the features? Surely not : these bad-boys have a 300m range, built-in answer machine, caller display, handsfree speaker phone, 40 name and number phone book, 9 hours talk-time and 110 hours standby. I mean, you couldn`t really ask for more than that, could you?? I just couldn`t accept the fact that at this price they could actually be any good. `You get what you pay for in this life, my boy` - my dad`s voice was ringing in my head. But I am a sucker for a bargain, and although they seemed too good to be true, I was soon on my way out of the shop with the Binatone MD2020 quad-pack under my arm. I must admit to being a little sceptical when I got home and began setting the phones up. I was convinced the set-up procedure would be complicated, and that the clarity of calls would be disappointing. But my fears were quickly replaced by pleasant suprise. Upon plugging in the phones (only the main base requires a phone socket) the handsets quickly locate their bases automatically and you are ready to go! So I made a call, wondering if it was possible that these things could actually be as good as they seem - and what do you know, the clarity was fantastic. Even when I wandered into my garden the sound quality was delightfully clear! So well done, Binatone, for manufacturing such a great product at such an unbelievable price, and well done me for grabbing a bargain. Get yours today! 4 out of 5The Nice09/08/2005 08:19:02

PANASONICKXTCD422EGood quality phone system.

Pros: Excellent sound quality. Clear and usable menu system. Cons: Ringer volume is not as high as it could be. No backlight for LCD or keypad. No audible alert for new messages received. On the whole a very good system at this price range. If you want a telephone upstairs and one down - with good basic features, that you don't need to dig the manual out for, this phone system is for you.

The 'cons' list above are 'would've been nice if it had...' features and do not make this a flawed piece of equipment.

PANASONICKXTCD420EThis phone does so much it has a 47 page manual. I doubt that everyone would use every single function, but trust me, you really need some patience and calm when setting the phone up. You expect to push the buttons and for it to react, but it takes a few seconds to think about what you are asking it to do, so you have to just wait and slowly punch in the buttons. There really is a LOT to read and understand, but once you get the hang of it, it is a great phone. Be aware that the massive Panasonic company do NOT have their help lines manned on a saturday and sunday! - and you WILL be phoning them at some point. Worst part is the answer machine facility. You have to remember to go over to the phone and look at the display to see if a small icon (in black) is blinking, which means you have a message! - would be better to have an eye catching light. Also, in order to hear your message, you need to push 4 buttons, slooowly or it gets confused; just a one or two push button would be far better. Good luck. 3 out of 5Jan06/10/2006 07:45:39

BTFreestyle 2500Hmmm...handsfree. I don`t think so. Maybe if you have a decent set of lungs and scream at the top of your voice. Otherwise the mic is nowhere near sensitive enough and there is little point in having handsfree if you have put the handset right next to your mouth. I got a replacement and that did the same. When I spoke to BT they said they have had other complaints about this feature.

DialogueER828 DECTThere is a major flaw with this product whereby it tries to call it's home depot, when you are not using the phone. Each call is 7 seconds long, and you are billed 5p per call. This is really sneaky and crafty, as you are in no way aware that this is happening until you get the bill. I just got my replacement, and am assure that the problem is not there anymore (I was billed £8 for the calls by my phone provider, which I did not make), i.e. the phone did it of it's own accord.

Needless to say, I take this re-assurance of reliability with a pinch of salt.

NTLD4000 SILVERThis came with Ni-cad batteries. They didn't last long and began to suffer from memory effect. This meant that if recharged when they still had some charge in them, they would in future recharge only to that level. The result was shorter and shorter useful time before recharging was needed. The answer is to let the battery run down completely before recharging. Otherwise, not a bad phone.3 out of 5Battery life18/11/2002 16:57:39

But really the coloured screen is only there as a background & names & numbers come up as plain old black. You cant add ringtones etc. It hasnt lasted long. 2 out of 5Beejay27/08/2008 17:45:21

BINATONEE900 TripleI`ve got exactly the same problem. I locked it to stop my daughter making calls on it (she`s 2) and now I like the previous reviewer I can find no way to unlock. It just beeps at me. Extremely frustrating. 2 out of 5Emily06/07/2008 08:27:46

BINATONEE900 TripleI have a Binatone E900 HOme cordless phone and I have found it very good....unitl my 3year old put it keypad lock and nothing I do will unlock it! I`ve tried to get help lines over the net and in the phone book but it appears that there is no customer service for help if you require it. Let`s face it over 50% of the population has a child at home capable of doing this and the company has notset6 up a help service for us. Further, the instructions that tell you how to fix this problem doesn`t work! 2 out of 5Fleur Hellen12/03/2008 11:59:01

BinatoneActivity 6210 TwinHave had these phones for about a year now. Problems are that when in the middle of a phone call the phone makes two beeps in your ear piece. This occurs ramdomly. This has become so annoying that I am now looking for another phoneset. Finger buttons are for kids fingers, not adults. Volume is quite low and you have to be careful how many walls are between you and the base unit otherwise there is interference. Would consider another brand before Binatone again. 2 out of 5Dave22/10/2007 14:35:10

BinatoneMA760Looks OK, but batteries run out too fast. Also the phone keeps ringing after the call has been answered on another line. Wouldn`t recommend it 2 out of 5Joanne14/05/2007 15:37:25

BTDiverse 6350 DECT and Corded Base StationExcellent spec –digital this, SMS and SIM that, polyphonic and hands-free the other. Almost unique combination giving corded security on the base unit and cordless convenience on the less-frequently used remote unit. BUT - The ansafone has never worked properly. I unplugged the base unit to connect my PC to the internet and reconnected the `phone when I’d finished. The ansafone just didn`t work. I got a work around from the very helpful helpdesk but every message still has appalling interference in any `quiet` patch in the conversation. - There is a detectable delay between pressing the number keys and the number registering and beeping down the earpiece. Very off-putting. - It`s not that well put together, either and is certainly not worth anything near £100. Consequently, I’m looking for a replacement (corded/cordless or just cordless). Looking at the ‘net, Siemens seems the best bet. Perhaps if the Diverse were made (in Europe) to a standard and not to a price...? 2 out of 5Anne Onn08/01/2007 15:31:34

Binatone850 SMSGreat feature set and quality at far end is excellent, range is >100 meters however it has high hiss level on received audio. I found it too high and returned it to agents. If they fix this I would rate it 4 out 5 2 out of 5Peter Kay16/06/2006 09:47:45

BinatoneMA760Bought this yesterday for its good looks. Looks are fine, but the set is not. It keeps on ringing long after the calling person has cut the call. 2 out of 5charan30/12/2005 15:44:31
