Mueller ATF Universal Ankle Brace: Many brace effectively reduce excessive inversion and eversion, but hamper athletic performance such as running, speed and jumping ability. Twenty-five male athletes (age = 16.6 /- 0.7yr) who did not have a history of ankle injury within the previous year were tested.The test entailed a vertical jump, pro agility (25yd shuttle) and 20 yd sprint, both braced and non-braced. No significant differences were found between the subjects tests - whether braced or none braced - i.e., the ATF allows unrestricted foot movement.
