I bought this toothbrush because it was the cheapest, by a company that I normally trust when it comes to dental care and I didnt need all the extra bits you get on more expensive brushes, I just wanted a toothbrush that brushed better than a manual.
What a joke. The first time I used it it was fast and buzzing- for about thirty seconds. Every time Ive attempted to use it after that it has seemed to work for exactly 1 SECOND before I put it to my teeth. Then it slows down and finally stops, exhausted, after about 2 seconds. I thought maybe I hadnt charged it enough or there was a problem with my adaptor. I have tried it in five different electrical outlets, charging it for a few hours and building up to a WEEK. And still, it does not work. The absence of a light on the charger means I am not sure if it is just not charging at all or if it does charge but the power is just awful.
Not only have I been put off this toothbrush, I am going to have to buy one that actualy works and I will most likely buy one from another company. Oral B may be `reccommended by dentists`, but I bet they wouldnt reccommend THIS model, and Id rather buy from a company that wouldnt even put such a substandard model into the marketplace in the first place. It undermines the reputation of their brand.
I would have told this to the company, but they make commenting about products very difficult.

This is a basic but reliable rechargeable toothbrush - nothing fancy but good value - does exactly what it says. Easy to use and cleans better than a normal manual brush any day!

You get a really good clean.
Easy to get heads for.
And easy to charge.
This is the second one of these that my husband and i have had and would buy again.

very happy with this brush. More efficient than my previous one which was a similar model but vastly improved. More usage after re-charge and bristles give a better clean.

Prior to purchasing 2 of these rechargeable toothbrushes, I had the 2 of the professional care 600 model and the difference between the 600 model and this are that the 600 charge lasts a bit longer between charges and the 600 also has a light when on the charger.
My decision to go for this particular toothbrush came down to value for money. The 600 worked out about 25% more, which does not sound like much, but to me I can spend that on other things, so spent it on extra toothbrush heads.
This toothbrush does the job as advertised, so I will give it 5 stars. The power is more than adequate, an overnight charge will make the toothbrush run for 8-10 thorough tooth cleans lasting approx 3 mins each and the charger is actually a lot smaller than the 600 model, which suits us better when going on holiday.

I have had few dealing with Internet Companies, which come up to the standard of Amazon, and my purchase of this Oral-B tooth-brush. I have also purchased numerous other items, and can say without a doubt - this Internet location is one which I will return to may times, and have no hesitation in recommending to others.

Less powerful than its more expensive cousins from the same manufacturer (Braun). However, it is more than adequate for use by my son (who we bought it for) and is far better than the `toy town` versions specifically marketed at kids, that tend to use replacement batteries.
Good value for money, holds its charge well and does the job!

Bought this as a replacement for a previous version of the same that after several years use was not holding much battery charge and in any case the case had come apart and needed to be re-assembled.
The battery technology had changed since buying the previous one (with the same model code), but unlike other reviewers I cannot say I have noticed a difference. So far OK.
The main reasons for buying this rather than a newer model were price (this was cheaper), and owning yet another one to the one being replaced (so same brush heads and charger).
Shop around for brush heads. You can get them much cheaper than the standard price from Amazon or Boots. I think I got the last lot via eBay. As far as I can tell the are genuine with consequent quality and expected life.

We have bought 7 of these in the last 7 years ( 5 persons in our house ). they get a lot of use, 2 have now brocken, but the others are working just fine. I would recommend anyone to buy one from Amazon, cheapest price, great delivery.

I didnt want to spend a fortune on a decent electronic toothbrush and this item has not disappointed - my teeth have never looked so good, even my dentist noticed the difference after just a couple of weeks! Gives outstanding cleaning results, and a charge lasts for ages.

Ive had my current one for abot 3 months now, and as electric toothbrushes go its pretty good, it does actually clean my teeth. On the downside this is the 3rd one of these ive had in 6 or so years. The battery in them just doesnt last, and they can also be prone to letting water into the casing (my previous one was the pink see thru model, and i could see the liquid inside). However, for this price Im willing to replace it every couple of years anyway.

I also had the older model to this with the light and it was great. I now have this model which is hopeless the problem seems to be that the battery has been changed from NI-CAD 2.4 volt to a 1.2 volt NI-MH although the speed is the same it just does not have the same get up and go as the older model. I have spoken to oral B about this but they where not really interested and it seems to be still an ongoing problem. Hope this is of some help.

when i received this toothbrush it is not the one advertized. it is a rubbish toothbrush. i have had the one advertised for years and been very happy. do not buy this brush it is rubbish.

I agree that this is a sub-standard electric toothbrush. I had a similar model which I bought several years ago and lasted well. I finally decided that it needed replaced and was just looking for a similar model. This appears to be a newer version of what I had before but it is far less effective. As another reviewer said, it does not have a light indicating that it is charging (as shown in the picture). It also does not have a timer, a previous function which I found very useful. When I first took it out it seemed as if it was not fully charged, yet after a night of charging it remained the same - a low buzz that feels like its not doing very much. Itll do until I get around to buying another one. This time Ill be opting for one in a slightly higher price range.

I bought this toothbrush for two reasons; firstly it was cheap and secondly the reviews for it were pretty good.
Having now used it for a week I can say without hesitation that this is a rubbish product. Yes, it is cheap .. but boy do the words `False Economy` now ring true. Basically after powering it up for at least 24 hours it runs right from the first use like my old one (Braun 5000 3D) did when it was just about to run out of power. Apply even the absolute slightest bit of pressure on your teeth and the brush slows down to a crawl and after a couple of minutes your teeth are left feeling distinctly unbrushed.
So do yourself a favour and dont buy this product, its a complete waste of time. By all means go for a pricier model ... from experience theyre excellent.
What beats me though, is what planet the other positive reviewers were on when they used theirs !
