I bought one of these refurbished from ebay...big mistake!! The printer arrived without any ink cartridge and being a refurb unit it had previously been used and the ink jet heads were blocked.(The manual says not to remove the ink cartridge until a replacement is ready!!) Cleaning the heads uses ink!! It took a whole cartridge to clean the heads before it could be used luckily I used a compatible ink cartridge £4.95 instead of the original £20+. The printer cost me £20 if I had used genuine ink cartridges that would have been 20+, then I would have to buy another cartridge £20+ because I used the ink in the other cartridge cleaning the heads!! So effectivley my £20 bargain would have cost £60+. I know what these printers can do and when they are working they are great little things my parents own one (£40 NEW)which made me buy this BARGAIN!! Anyway all I am saying is spend the extra and buy it new they are worth it and the results from such a small printer are great.

I had this printer bought for me for christmas 2006 and have had no problems with it at all, i love it, not only does it produce lovely clear photo`s, but it so small i can take it to friends and family`s get togethers. The christmas i got it we took photo`s and printed them for our families there and then. wonderful!

It`s just fantastic. Plug in your camera, follow the simple instructions and 30 odd seconds later you have shop quality pictures. The cost of each picture needs to be taken into consideration but other than that no faults, perfect!!! You can also plug in your pc to the printer with and A + B USB cable.

have just bought a picturemate 100 and i am really pleased with it. setting up was dead easy (no drivers to install) i had to wait a while because the jets need to be charged with ink before you can use it. however once i started printing photos off they were quick and crystal clear, colours were vibrant and true to life. i tried to use some kodak paper i had left but they were not as good as the ones on epson paper. the printer is so easy to use,images can be viewed on the screen before you print them it is easy to carry and with the option to use a rechargable battery instead of mains cable. the instructions are clear and easy to follow, the only downside is the ink cartridge cannot be bought separatly you have to buy it in a pack with photo paper. all in all though a very neat compact and nifty little printer

I just bought the epson picture mate this afternoon and used it tonight . Can`t believe it. Very easy to use , the pics. are outstanding. I thought I would have no use for a printer like this since I have my desktop printer (Epson RX500)which does everything, but this unit is portable, fast and does a professional job. I didn`t use it very long, but my first impression of it is a 10 out of 5 ..... Dave .....

Nice printer a good thing about it is you do not need a computer when not in use you can put it out of the way the print out is good better than most shop prints the cost is low about 5p a print my kodak dc4800 just come to life 3.1 mega pix just put my card in the slot and away it went 10 out of 10 for me

Excellent little machine. With my Nikon Coolpix 4100 it works just right.I can not do without PicturMate its just convient and handy and prints very very sharp and full of colour photos much better than supermarkets machines.

Just bought the EPSON Picture Mate 6 x 4 Photo Printer. The picture quality is fantastic, I have a kodak 4MP camera. It is so easy to use, after printing off the picture index you can check which pictures you want to print. Not having to boot the PC saves a lot time too, just pop your memory card in the slot, follow the on screen menu and press print. It"s great!!!!! I have an Epson 950 printer, but I"ll be using this to print off my pics.

Wouldn't install on XP...frustrated for 20 minutes then I downloaded the XP driver, actually read the instructions (install the usb and printer drivers in the correct order, rebooting in between).

Excellent quality prints - simple interface, jolly good.

Attach it to a TV using the supplied cable and plug in a memory card containing your photos. It is very easy to use and gives excellent print quality. If you have a high quality image, I would compare it with a quality SLR and standard printing.

Overall, I am very impressed.

I bought this printer specifically for the duplex printing function, this turns the paper over automatically and prints both sides. The cartridges aren`t the cheapest, but the results are excellent. Full photo printing, cd/dvd printing, which is very fast. There is also numerous settings in the driver software which is useful for printing one off photos and getting them absolutely perfect. There is OEM versions of cartridges, but it is very fiddly as the electronic chip has to be taken off the original and glued onto the new cartridge. I have managed to do this with out gluing, although it is not recommended. All in all a fantastic, versataile printer.

Printer itself is excellent and the photos that are produced are of very good quality. However, the cartridges are expensive and it is difficult to buy them without the extra photopaper, which I am sure puts the price up. I have loads of good quality photographic paper and do not need any extra paper.

Brilliant little printer, very easy to use, good quality prints and compatible with most of the digital media cards available. Can print with or without PC, also has bluetooth capability, with included USB dongle. Only criticism is that you dont get a usb cable included in the package.

Brilliant printer. Beautiful quality pictures, compared them to the instore printer service of a leading cosmetics store and they were far brighter and crisper. Value for money and the paper and ink comes at a reasonable price too. The only down point to this product is printing time, it takes about 3 minutes to print one photo but watching the three stages of colour being applied is novel. All in all I highly recommend this printer.

This is a great printer and you can`t go wrong provided you buy it for the right money. I just got one from a Superdrug store for a bargain £39.99, and I`ve since found out that Homebase have sold them too, for £29 (but very limited stocks). The print quality is superb, and likewise the easy of use is so simple and brainless (taking it out of the box is the hardest thing you`ll do). It connects to everything but a pc, so mobile phones, digital cameras and of coarse memory cards are not a problem. As for the burning question of the ink prices. A lot of people dislike Lexmark for the high ink re-fill prices, but in all fairness to Lexmark, I have bought spare ink for a mere £5 (yes, a fiver, and that`s for Lexmark genuine ink). Generally though, you`ll pick the ink up for around £14 (for a `number 33` cartidge low yeild) or £18 (for a `number 35` high yeild catridge, for super photo quality). In general, here`s what I think summed up: Good quality, nice small size unit, easy to use, reliable, fairly quick, options to adjust the image and play around with colours. The only negative I would say is the amount of prints to the ink catridge, as when you use `high quality mode`, I only get around 40 prints, but this would be around 70 prints on a lower setting, and 80 prints on a very `basic` setting. Buy one, bargain overall.

I found this product light, easy to handle, compact & operates quietly. It was very easy to install, both software & cartridges, & I started using within 15 mins. I loved the many different paths/options available to get the best out of my picture/brochure printing (especially the borderless option). I have not used the PictBridge yet, only because I do not have the camera compatible with that option. With all the options/choices in this model, I think it is a good buy for the money, but I am also an `HP fan`. Now all I need to do is wait to assess how it fares with time!!

I just bought one and it looks good and everything but am confused as to where to get the paper. The manuls do not evenmentioin paper and the prinitng cartridge. Th eonly hting I saw was a package of ink and 120 sheets of paper for $49 (US). Question is how do I use up the cartridge that came with the printer? I would wait on this product till this issue is resolved. It looks greta but I am taking it back and getting a Cannon because I know where to get the printing paper.

I replaced my R300 with this printer 2 days ago & am alarmed at the apparent fast use of ink cartidges. After a couple of A4 colour prints, a cartridge ink clean, + 3 B/W copies all 4 cartidges are showing less than 1/2 full. Comments?

I was very dissapointed with this product. Firstly the picture quality was fake looking and not true to how it looks on the camera. Plus after printing just 6 prints the printer ribbon got stuck to the photo paper and started getting clogged up in the machine causing it to break....Something similar happened in the first couple of prints but i thought i had solved the problem, turned out its just a really rubbish printer!

Its not a true to life printer and produces fake looking digitised images with very poor unrealistic colour saturation and sharpness with an occasional good picture. It does not produce `professional Photo lab quality prints` ever, as it clearly states on the box.If a like for like comparison was done (as i have done)Olympus would be sweating in a court of law! I have been in correspondance with Olympus about this and have recieved 2 new replacement printers which were equally poor. I have invested a lot in this product to fill a need in my business & just want to get rid of it as i will never use it Again and cannot give away the images it produces.I have noted that olympus have now changed the Claim that this printer produces `Professional Photo lab quality` in the U.K but still claim it in the USA(Hmmm interesting. I use Nikon D2Hs with Nikon 70-200 AFS EF ID VR f/2.8 and 30mm f/1.4 lenses & get much,much better results with a inkjet Epson printer. I was assured by Olympus prior to purchase that this printer would work perfectly with my equipment. It is for snapshots only and should not use the word professional on its packaging(unless it has the word NOT before it)

Terrible printer. It freezes, and the only way to reset is to physically unplug the power cable (buttons on front freeze as well). I am a Technician for a Community College, and have 3 of these printers on Campus. ALL 3 have given me grief, and are hard to install. XP did not like the drivers(even the most current ones). After finally getting the drivers to work it was still shotty on whether or not it would work on a daily basis.

I would not recommend this printer to anyone. For any use.

I was given an epson PictureMate for xmas in 2004 but unfortunately only used it once in January 2005. I went to print some Photo`s 2 weeks ago & the printer has packed up, according to Epson you have to switch them on every couple of weeks (it does not actually tell you to do this in the instructions manual) & as they advertise that you do not need a computer so why would one load a cd rom onto computer for instructions. The after-sales service from Epsom has been diabolical as the product is 2 weeks out of warranty & require £45 for a reconditioned model (they must have plenty of faulty printers to offer for resale reconditioned models.Be very wary of buying this product

I overcame my reservations about buying HP because I liked the compact product design. Unfortunately the first one I got printed green streaks across the photos, so I returned it. The second one jammed its print carriage as soon as I switched it on, so it`s going back for a refund. Having suffered their computers at work, I`ve always considered HP`s reputation for quality to be unfounded and I should have listened to my original worries. Don`t buy their junk.

i bought one about 3 weeks ago and had to send it in to olympus for repair within a week of using it as its images were of very poor quality and had dye smudges caused by the printer. It was replaced with a new one after 2 weeks at the repair centre. Still produces fake looking poor quality pictures.
