| HEWLETT PACKARD | HP Photosmart 335 | It does simply what you want from this! Good price 10 x 15 photos. Ive had one for over a year and have bought another 2 of these as presents. Ive tried inferior ink cartridges which are not worth it, you really do need to buy the original HP cartridges to get the best colours and longer ink-life.
You can also buy an inexpensive (I paid less than £5) bluetooth adapter so that you can send photos to this from a bluetooth camera phone, no need to purchase the expensive HP option. | | Amazon Reviewer | 08/05/2007 01:01:01 |

| EPSON | Picturemate 100 | I bought one of these refurbished from ebay...big mistake!! The printer arrived without any ink cartridge and being a refurb unit it had previously been used and the ink jet heads were blocked.(The manual says not to remove the ink cartridge until a replacement is ready!!) Cleaning the heads uses ink!! It took a whole cartridge to clean the heads before it could be used luckily I used a compatible ink cartridge £4.95 instead of the original £20+. The printer cost me £20 if I had used genuine ink cartridges that would have been 20+, then I would have to buy another cartridge £20+ because I used the ink in the other cartridge cleaning the heads!! So effectivley my £20 bargain would have cost £60+. I know what these printers can do and when they are working they are great little things my parents own one (£40 NEW)which made me buy this BARGAIN!! Anyway all I am saying is spend the extra and buy it new they are worth it and the results from such a small printer are great. | | Gary | 07/05/2007 09:05:34 |

| HEWLETT PACKARD | HP Photosmart 335 | I had this printer bought for me for christmas 2006 and have had no problems with it at all, i love it, not only does it produce lovely clear photo`s, but it so small i can take it to friends and family`s get togethers. The christmas i got it we took photo`s and printed them for our families there and then. wonderful! | | Manda | 27/03/2007 13:02:11 |

| HEWLETT PACKARD | PhotoSmart 8750gp | I had been on the lookout for an A3 printer for quite a while and eventually saw the HP8750 in Birmingham last Feb. I was amazed at the results. Once I got home I set about purchasing the printer and am delighted with it. Borderless printing is excellent and colour saturation is really good, speed of printing is acceptable about five minute for an A3 colour photograph. One small point the software supplied could be better. | | Amazon Reviewer | 15/09/2006 01:01:01 |

| EPSON | Picturemate 100 | have just bought a picturemate 100 and i am really pleased with it. setting up was dead easy (no drivers to install) i had to wait a while because the jets need to be charged with ink before you can use it. however once i started printing photos off they were quick and crystal clear, colours were vibrant and true to life. i tried to use some kodak paper i had left but they were not as good as the ones on epson paper. the printer is so easy to use, images can be viewed on the screen before you print them it is easy to carry and with the option to use a rechargable battery instead of mains cable. the instructions are clear and easy to follow, the only downside is the ink cartridge cannot be bought separatly you have to buy it in a pack with photo paper. all in all though a very neat compact and nifty little printer | | ken | 29/07/2006 21:41:36 |

| Epson | Picturemate 100 | We have been using and abusing this printer since Christmas and it has proved itself as one of our favourite gadgets.
A big plus point is this printer accepts our Fuji/Cannon XD Cards (including the new H series); they just plug into the slot in the front. You can also connect the printer to a computer via the USB port or, use PictBridge to connect to a camera directly by cable. The three ink cartridge is rather like a small VHS video cassette; it slots into the back of the printer. The paper pack rests in a flip-out hopper at the back.
We found you get around 80 prints per cartridge. However, once you get started printing, it is very easy to print dozens of photos in one go! Maybe printing with printer is too easy. BTW, I understand there are cheaper Epson compatible cartridges for this printer out there - somewhere!
The 6 x 4 inch prints are bright, sharp and clear; sometimes there is a very slight banding visible in sky areas, but this is under very close scrutiny and does not affect the viewing of prints at normal distances.
The BIG advantage of desk top printers is theres no waiting in line at the dreaded photo developers! Plug it in, insert the memory card and away you go. You can literally take a digital photo and get it printed out in under two minutes; thats as fast as a Polaroid!
And being so portable, you could for example, take your printer along to a family event (wedding, kids party) and provide prints of the event to take away. You could also use it for making passport style photos; no need to find a functioning photo booth that also takes flattering images!
This inexpensive little gem is ideal for anyone with a growing collection of digital memory chips and a lot of empty photo albums!

| HEWLETT PACKARD | P325 | I upgraded from a Photosmart 125 to this model for the better looks and the addition of a preview screen. Im very impressed. The preview screen is clear and the menus easy to navigate. The control buttons are easy to use and provide adequate feedback. Ive yet to have one paper jam and the print quality has been excellent, much improved over the 125 model I had previous. It looks much better than previous models, but its not perfect. Instead of making the entire chassis out of white plastic they chose to only make the trays white. Thus the actual chassis is grey. A weird choice. It has support for the usual data cards as well as being able to plug in USB thumb-drives and bluetooth dongles. Again, very impressed. The printer is easy to use, has excellent features and amazingly good value, I was surprised at the current selling price on Amazon. Highly recommended! | | Amazon Reviewer | 23/11/2005 01:01:01 |

| Canon | SELPHY CP400 | The promised saying of "Plug and Play" has been around for sometime now, but with the Canon SELPHY CP-400 Compact Photo Printer its really refreshing to find that with some pieces of equipment its a motto thats quite true. The CP-400 is small and compact and looks good. Its incredibly easily to assemble, requiring the user only to insert the toner cartridge, put the paper in the paper holder and insert this and finally plug it in. Having the ability to print from both PC and directly from your digital camera is brilliant. Connections are made via a standard USB cable (these arent supplied and you will need a different cable for PC to Printer and Camera to Printer). In the case of connecting it to your camera, I have a Canon Powershot A75, you literally plug the cable in, the blue light flashes on the camera and its a one-button press to print. In case of PC to Printer you need to install the included drivers and software but after that, again its just press the print button and away you go. One nice advantage of printer from the camera via the cable to the printer means you can hold the camera and manipulate the photo you want to print, i.e. on a docking station you need to get down to the level of the printer to do all this. Watching the printer is an experience it itself. The printer drags the paper through itself three times, applying the different colours, yellow, red and finally blue. The picture is then ejected and seems to still develop for a couple of seconds afterwards, i.e. let it dry and finish before handling it too much. The quality is great and gives an excellent reproduction of the picture youve originally taken. The printer is at the budget end of the market so the picture quality is not perfect but certainly for family snaps its fine. Its small, its cheap and most importantly it works first time and the expression on the faces of my parents as we took their photo with their grandchildren and then minutes later they were holding the photo was work the outlay in itself. | | Amazon Reviewer | 13/10/2005 01:01:01 |

| EPSON | Picturemate 100 | I had the same experience as Gary above & used half a cartridge to clean the heads. There`s a market out there for someone to sell a head cleaner that doesn`t use your precious ink. Good printer otherwise Bob | | Bob | 27/09/2007 13:02:57 |

|
| EPSON | Picturemate 100 | Printer itself is excellent and the photos that are produced are of very good quality. However, the cartridges are expensive and it is difficult to buy them without the extra photopaper, which I am sure puts the price up. I have loads of good quality photographic paper and do not need any extra paper. | | Anita | 19/03/2007 22:00:41 |

| HEWLETT PACKARD | HP Photosmart 335 | I overcame my reservations about buying HP because I liked the compact product design. Unfortunately the first one I got printed green streaks across the photos, so I returned it. The second one jammed its print carriage as soon as I switched it on, so it`s going back for a refund. Having suffered their computers at work, I`ve always considered HP`s reputation for quality to be unfounded and I should have listened to my original worries. Don`t buy their junk. | | Neil Gall | 06/01/2006 12:20:42 |

| Canon | IP4200 | Affordable, reliable and fully featured. One of the best printers that you can buy. Although the ink may seem expensive initially, youll get through a lot of printing before youll need to replace them. The colours come in separate ink-tanks so youll only need to replace one colour at a time, cutting down on wasted ink and contributing to a greener environment. However, the quality of the ink and printer is excellent, especially when it comes to photos. Use the supplied photo printing software and get perfect results every time. My dad could not tell that the picture prints I showed him came from the printer until I told him so. Youll need to see it for yourself.
And if that is not enough, it prints on CD/DVD media too via a dedicated attachment. Printing speed is fast and it supports automatic double page printing. Saving money and the environment even further. In night mode, its whisper quiet, albeit at a slower speed. Otherwise, the printing speed is very respectable. Hence, ideal for work, study and play.
But the best thing about this printer is that it "talks" to me. The printer driver is able to tell me exactly when I will run out of a certain colour due to the special way that the ink-tanks are designed (precision optics in the cartridges itself). So no more guesswork and having to "hunt" to get replacements in the middle of a deadline.
Furthermore, changing the ink-tanks has also been transformed from a usually complicated and unrewarding task to one that is not only easy, but visually satisfying. The ink-tanks glow with beautiful colours when installed and they will flash when needs changing. Almost impossible to get it wrong. This is what aesthetically beautiful and yet functional design is all about.
Drivers function reliably in the background and there has not been any "conflicts" or crashes when used with Windows 98SE, 2000 Professional and XP Professional over the past two years of use. Something that I have not experienced prior to using Canon printers. This simple reliability can
sometimes be the most important factor when buying a printer, especially if you need to meet deadlines like me. A special "Web-print" driver also ensures perfect print-outs of web-pages. No more frustrating, time-wasting and useless prints of web-pages with the margins way beyond the paper margins. How they do this, I dont know. Clever and useful, thats all thats matters to me.
In short, if you need a multi-talented, photo-quality and reliable printer, get one if you can still find it at a sensible price. You will thank yourself later for doing so. Have not used the latest iP 4300 but would be a much better choice at 1/3 the price on Amazon, as it uses the same technologies, albeit upgraded!!!
Last word of advice, the print-head for the iP 4200 is a precision engineered device []. Using refills may be penny wise but pound foolish. It defeats the purpose of buying this decent printer. Better to buy a cheap low quality printer with cheap ink cartridges. That is a better bet to save money and avoid heartache and regret resulting
from any unforeseen incompatibilities.
The Canon ChromaLife100 inks are worth every penny, especially when used for printing photographs. Try to see the pictures printed by this ink system before you buy anything else. []... Enjoy.

| Epson | R340 | I treated myself to the Epson R340 last Christmas, and havent regretted it once! This printer produces awesome prints. I dont have it hooked up to my computer, but use it separately and just put my SD memory card in it and its ready to print. You can also crop images directly from the printer, on the small screen provided. I print out all my photos at 5 x 7 and you cant tell the difference between them and photos printed at Jessops or anywhere else for that matter. I always use Epson photo paper and Epson inks, and I think that helps. Ive used other brand papers but the results havent been nearly so good as the Epson paper. I often print out photos of my daughters friends - my friends ask me to take photos of their kids in school plays/events, etc, and are amazed when I hand them the prints the next day or, on some occasions, the same day! And the quality of the print is always so good, everyone really likes them. I cant recommend this printer enough. The only downside is I go through ink very quickly because I use it so often! But luckily the inks are individual, and you can either buy them individually, or in a multipack from Amazon, like I do, which works out much cheaper! Also, Amazon charges about £15 less for a multipack of one of each color, than you can get anywhere else. Buy it if you want great photos, quickly! | | Amazon Reviewer | 17/11/2006 01:01:01 |

| Olympus | P11 | It`s just fantastic. Plug in your camera, follow the simple instructions and 30 odd seconds later you have shop quality pictures. | Epson | R340 | Excellent purchase. Fantastic print quality for money. Easy to use. Easy set-up etc. Havnt worked out value of prints etc but doesnt look too bad. I have sent for tests from Epson and expected them to be doctored in some way to look better than you can achieve but when i printed myself they where just as good.

| EPSON | Picture Mate 6 x 4 Photo Printer | I just bought the epson picture mate this afternoon and used it tonight . Can`t believe it. Very easy to use , the pics. are outstanding. Easy to use with or without the computer and the supplied software is very easy but has some good features. It is so easy to use, after printing off the picture index you can check which pictures you want to print. Not having to boot the PC saves a lot time too, just pop your memory card in the slot, follow the on screen menu and press print. It"s great!!!!! | CANON | IP5200 | I bought this printer specifically for the duplex printing function, this turns the paper over automatically and prints both sides. The cartridges aren`t the cheapest, but the results are excellent. Full photo printing, cd/dvd printing, which is very fast. There is also numerous settings in the driver software which is useful for printing one off photos and getting them absolutely perfect. There is OEM versions of cartridges, but it is very fiddly as the electronic chip has to be taken off the original and glued onto the new cartridge. I have managed to do this with out gluing, although it is not recommended. All in all a fantastic, versataile printer. | | Hogman the 2nd | 20/06/2007 08:15:25 |

| SONY | DPPFP30 | Brilliant printer. Beautiful quality pictures, compared them to the instore printer service of a leading cosmetics store and they were far brighter and crisper. Value for money and the paper and ink comes at a reasonable price too. The only down point to this product is printing time, it takes about 3 minutes to print one photo but watching the three stages of colour being applied is novel. All in all I highly recommend this printer. | | Anon | 25/01/2007 09:25:23 |

| LEXMARK | P315 | This is a great printer and you can`t go wrong provided you buy it for the right money. I just got one from a Superdrug store for a bargain £39.99, and I`ve since found out that Homebase have sold them too, for £29 (but very limited stocks). The print quality is superb, and likewise the easy of use is so simple and brainless (taking it out of the box is the hardest thing you`ll do). It connects to everything but a pc, so mobile phones, digital cameras and of coarse memory cards are not a problem. As for the burning question of the ink prices. A lot of people dislike Lexmark for the high ink re-fill prices, but in all fairness to Lexmark, I have bought spare ink for a mere £5 (yes, a fiver, and that`s for Lexmark genuine ink). Generally though, you`ll pick the ink up for around £14 (for a `number 33` cartidge low yeild) or £18 (for a `number 35` high yeild catridge, for super photo quality). In general, here`s what I think summed up: Good quality, nice small size unit, easy to use, reliable, fairly quick, options to adjust the image and play around with colours. The only negative I would say is the amount of prints to the ink catridge, as when you use `high quality mode`, I only get around 40 prints, but this would be around 70 prints on a lower setting, and 80 prints on a very `basic` setting. Buy one, bargain overall. | | Poppy | 08/01/2007 15:27:59 |

| HEWLETT PACKARD | HP Photosmart 8050 | I found this product light, easy to handle, compact & operates quietly. It was very easy to install, both software & cartridges, & I started using within 15 mins. I loved the many different paths/options available to get the best out of my picture/brochure printing (especially the borderless option). I have not used the PictBridge yet, only because I do not have the camera compatible with that option. With all the options/choices in this model, I think it is a good buy for the money, but I am also an `HP fan`. Now all I need to do is wait to assess how it fares with time!!

It is a great printer, but the cartridges are chipped, and expensive, with no real OEM alternatives. | | Anon | 01/12/2006 14:55:05 |

| OLYMPUS | PS100 | I was very dissapointed with this product. Firstly the picture quality was fake looking and not true to how it looks on the camera. Plus after printing just 6 prints the printer ribbon got stuck to the photo paper and started getting clogged up in the machine causing it to break....Something similar happened in the first couple of prints but i thought i had solved the problem, turned out its just a really rubbish printer! | | carina | 02/05/2008 19:05:29 |

| Olympus | P11 | Its not a true to life printer and produces fake looking digitised images with very poor unrealistic colour saturation and sharpness with an occasional good picture. It does not produce `professional Photo lab quality prints` ever, as it clearly states on the box.If a like for like comparison was done (as i have done)Olympus would be sweating in a court of law! I have been in correspondance with Olympus about this and have recieved 2 new replacement printers which were equally poor. I have invested a lot in this product to fill a need in my business & just want to get rid of it as i will never use it Again and cannot give away the images it produces.I have noted that olympus have now changed the Claim that this printer produces `Professional Photo lab quality` in the U.K but still claim it in the USA(Hmmm interesting. I use Nikon D2Hs with Nikon 70-200 AFS EF ID VR f/2.8 and 30mm f/1.4 lenses & get much, much better results with a inkjet Epson printer. I was assured by Olympus prior to purchase that this printer would work perfectly with my equipment. It is for snapshots only and should not use the word professional on its packaging(unless it has the word NOT before it) | | SM | 26/11/2006 21:51:05 |

| EPSON | R245 | i have never had so much trouble with a printer, the ink is always drying up and it costs a fortune to replace the cartridges. I will be throwing mine in the bin and going back to Canon... | | Max | 17/11/2006 17:37:27 |

| LEXMARK | P915 | Terrible printer. It freezes, and the only way to reset is to physically unplug the power cable (buttons on front freeze as well). I am a Technician for a Community College, and have 3 of these printers on Campus. ALL 3 have given me grief, and are hard to install. XP did not like the drivers(even the most current ones). After finally getting the drivers to work it was still shotty on whether or not it would work on a daily basis.
I would not recommend this printer to anyone. For any use. | | Xiggy | 13/03/2006 10:02:17 |

| EPSON | Picture Mate 6 x 4 Photo Printer | I was given an epson PictureMate for xmas in 2004 but unfortunately only used it once in January 2005. I went to print some Photo`s 2 weeks ago & the printer has packed up, according to Epson you have to switch them on every couple of weeks (it does not actually tell you to do this in the instructions manual) & as they advertise that you do not need a computer so why would one load a cd rom onto computer for instructions. The after-sales service from Epsom has been diabolical as the product is 2 weeks out of warranty & require £45 for a reconditioned model (they must have plenty of faulty printers to offer for resale reconditioned models.Be very wary of buying this product | | Barbara Berry | 06/01/2006 12:20:47 |

| OLYMPUS | PS100 | i bought one about 3 weeks ago and had to send it in to olympus for repair within a week of using it as its images were of very poor quality and had dye smudges caused by the printer. It was replaced with a new one after 2 weeks at the repair centre. Still produces fake looking poor quality pictures. | | olympus ps | 06/10/2006 07:45:57 |
