| White Knight | CL3A | After seeing the other reviews I had to send mine, as a long time user of this dryer whose design has not changed for well over 15 years. It`s one of the best buy`s I have ever made, excellent performance and reliable. Mine is 15 years old and works as good as new. My daughter bought one 9 years ago and it just as good as ours. Its straight forward to use and there is very little to go wrong with it, just keep the fluff filter clear, 2 minute job and that`s all the maintenance you need to do. I wish all domestic appliances were half as good. | | E | 24/10/2008 16:34:20 |

| White Knight | 447WV | I THINK THEY ARE AN EXCELLENT DRYER.MINE ONLY HAD A DEAD MOTOR CAPACITOR BUT I REPLACED IT AND IT NOW WORKS FINE AGAIN. THIS PARTICULAR DRYER WILL NOT START OR KEEP TURNING WITHOUT THE CAPACITOR WHICH GIVES THE MOTOR A BOOST OF POWER TO GET IT GOING. A CAPACITOR IS ONLY CHEAP AS WELL SO IT IS AN EASY FIX. | | ANDY | 16/08/2008 12:33:14 |

| Whirlpool | AWZ7913 | I have owned this dryer for just over a month and it is great. I used to own a whirlpool dryer before and it lasted the best part of 10 years without a single hiccup. This dryer is great because you can put it anywhere there is a plug socket and there is no need to put the pipe out the window because all the water collects in a tank that you can pull out and empty down the sink. | | santa donald | 19/02/2008 17:53:42 |

| AEG | T37400 | Super. The drum is big and has easy access. At first I wimped out and only used the timer (after all, it was all I`d ever been used to) and got good results. Then I tried the sensor-drying. Great results. I can put laundry in straight from the washing machine, or even nearly-dry from the line - and the sensor is still spot-on. I`m very pleased with it. | | Virginia | 22/09/2006 11:42:40 |

| HOTPOINT | CTD00 | I bought this dryer from Ebay, it was sold as faulty as it was claimed that it tripped the main house fuse when it was plugged in, and like a lot of this model, it failed when it was 16 months old. I got it home and plugged it in, and it worked for a few days, then it did what most of this model does, it tripped the main house fuse. Did a bit of investigating and found out that the mains supressor is the cause of the problem, i was told by an repair engineer that the supressor gets electricity even when the unit is not running, and he advised me to prolong the life of the supressor, the dryer needs to be switched off at the plug when not in use. | | Dale | 24/10/2008 16:34:02 |

| White Knight | 447WV | I bought one about 7 years ago. I try only to use it when I can`t dry outside, It worked fine for about 6 years but then first one element went - the high setting, then the other about 6 months ago. It still turns round, but there`s no heat. It is now a nuisance, but yes, I would buy another at the right price | | Environmentalist | 19/11/2007 13:36:40 |

| HOTPOINT | CTD00 | Mine is just over a year old and is also blowing the main house fuse when turned on. This is obviously an inherant problem with this model. | Creda | TCR2 | I have had this dryer for 14 months. Had an engineer out for the door catch after 2 months, only had to wait less than a week... He didn`t fix it, now use a door wedge to ensure door stays shut. It started to blow cold air only about a week ago, but removed the outer case at the back with all the screws around it. This holds the heating element and the two thermostats over it. The thermostats look like flat 5p coins on one side with all the wiring on the other side. I cleaned these thermostats and used a pin to press into the one thermostat that has a small hole in the middle to reset it on the side with all the wiring. It now works fine, but I`m ordering a thermostat kit to have for the next time. I take it you get what you pay for. | | Peewig Plumpton | 04/02/2008 10:02:19 |

| Creda | TCR2 | Like the lady above, my dryer started acting up only a few months after I bought it. At the moment I am waiting on the engineer coming out again - the 5th time since I bought it last September (luckily because of all the probs I have had with it I took an extended warranty which is a thing I never do)As I live on an island off the west coast of Scotland it`s not easy to get it looked at. Every time he has been to me it has been a problem with the condenser - it`s very sensitive?! having never had a condenser dryer before I thought it was my own fault if I wasn`t using it properly but, given that he was at it only 10 days before it went again, I am now questioning the reliability of Creda as had the condenser been looking dodgy the Engineer would have clocked it at the time. I scrupulously clean it more often than the recommended to try and keep it clear but at the moment it is, once again, blowing out cold air. With two of us and two kids, the reason you buy a dryer is because you need it, and this machine is simply not dependable. When it works it`s fine but when it`s not it`s dreadful. | | julieg | 28/10/2006 09:44:30 |

| HOTPOINT | VTD65A | I`ve had the VTD65 version of this dryer for just over 2 years. There has been a terrible knocking sound from the drum rubbing against something for a while. My husband opened it up to take a look and a cloud of black, carbon-like substance fell out and stained the carpet. It`s almost impossible to clean off. | CREDA | T522VW | I would recommend this dryer to anyone. Great value and great performance too. Very nice design and I like the front and rear options for the outlet hose. Drying times are so quick and the load capacity is rather large @ 11lbs. It is just a plain simple dryer and easy to use with not much to go wrong. I notice that parts are so easy to get too but I have had no probleams with my dryer at all and I will now give it 5 stars.

| WHIRLPOOL | LGR5437 | This is a marvellous beast. Dries prodigious quantities of laundry in very little time (about 20-40 minutes covers everything). It must be installed properly by a CORGI registered fitter and it will require a metal (preferably steel) flue - hint: single bore 100mm diameter boiler flues are ideal for this - also easier to obtain than custom ducting as well as more attractive. Externally a grille and terminal are required to stop birds nesting in the flue but once it is installed it is an absolute joy to use. A nice BIG door, nicely located controls and very simple technically. We have had no problems in 4 years of 3 times weekly use on average. Expensive initially but so very, very capable | | Richard Irving | 26/10/2007 15:10:02 |

| Bosch | WTE86304GB | Just taken delivery through pixmania.com. Excellent price and service from this company. Simple plug in and use. Programmes will take a little time to get used to as this tumble dryer thinks for itself to some extent, preventing over drying. Don`t be put off when the dryer suggests the initial drying time as the sensor only dries as long as is necessary for the size and type of load. Been choosing the `cupboard dry` option so far and the result has been clothes need no or minimal ironing. Some have still been slightly damp, with a little further drying required. Choosing the `very dry` or `extra dry` options would probably eliminate this. Very pleased with results so far. Water reservoir and fluff filter simple to empty and clean. Product had been recommended by sales assistant in major high Electrical Store. Very pleased with my choice of tumble dryer. | | Anon | 11/08/2007 08:01:55 |

| WHIRLPOOL | AWZ220 | I`ve had one of these tumble dryers for 6 years and so far haven`t replaced any parts and it is still going strong. My mum has had hers for about 2 years longer than I have and she has not had any problems either (which is why my dad bought me one!). | Kenwood | KCD1W | I have had my Kenwood KCD1W tumble dryer for a few weeks now. I live in a flat, hence the need for a condensor dryer. So far I can count the number of times i have used it on one hand, but so far, everything is great. Like most tumble dryers it is quite noisy, but once the door is shut in the room, you`d barley notice it was on. I purchased my tumble dryer form Curry`s, and the assistant informed me i may need to empty the condensor bottle almost every cycle, but so far i have manged to get 3 runs out of the machine before emptying, and even then, the bottle was only 3/4 full - and i have been drying towells on a few runs which have a tendancy to hold more water than most other items. The condensor unit needs to be cleaned out every 2 or 3 months which isn`t exactly a chore, and the air filter can last a good few runs before needing clearing. The machine itself looks great, but doesn`t come with any adjustable feet that i have noticed. The timer function and buttons are clear and work fine, and the door has a nice tight quality feel to it when you close and open it. That`s about all i can say so far, so i hope this is of help, and in conclusion, i would definatly recommend this dryer based on its current performance. I would give this machine 9/10. | | DaveC | 27/11/2006 10:24:51 |

| BOSCH | WTA3204GB | This product smacks of quality. It is quiet, relatively small and flexible in that you can attach the ventilation hose from the left, right, or (traditional) back.
Filter cleaning takes less than 10 seconds and the dryer has an amazing ability to inject some 'fluffiness' into everything it dries.

| BOSCH | WTL6103GB | Very heavy on power and takes approx 2 hrs to dry. Not economical at all | | R Bray | 07/09/2008 10:01:44 |

| PROLINE | TDV60 | Okay socks and tumble drier sheets tend to get sucked to front covering the filter and then getting covered in fluff (socks) or not doing their job (sheets) | | Anon | 19/11/2007 13:37:40 |

| BOSCH | WTL6003 | Good drying. Noisy - as are others. Convenient not to have to empty water. Stacking kit is not that neat (WTZ 1160). Door is very large - so large that the washing falls out when you open it. Quite expensive compared to others, but bought it to go with great Bosch Washing machine.

| HOTPOINT | TDL10P | If it was not for the design floor, this would be a great dryer. I have had my Hotpoint TDL1OP for three years now, it is a good dryer but it also has one big problem, no matter how well you keep the fluff filter clean, the machine will still get fluff jamed in all the workings, to the point that you can smell burning due to the fluff getting around the heating elements, it also gets stuck around the drum, and in the end you have to call someone out to sort it. I am so glad that I took out an extended warrantee on this machine. All I can say is if you are thinking of getting one then for your own sake take out an extended warrantee, or it could cost you a lot of money in the end. | | Jackie Ager | 08/06/2004 07:53:42 |

| CRUSADER | CT61C | I`ve owned one for 8 years and only ever had one problem with a thermostat that was easily repaired. However, It is now turning it`s self off before it`s finished and my local repair company say they can not get the parts and are not interested in repairing it - which is a real pain as it should just be an easy repair that gives the dryer a few more years of good use. As per the previous review parts do repair to be something of a problem!! | | Jon Winn | 07/02/2009 09:23:17 |

| HOOVER | TV630 | Mine died this evening after 6 years. Wish I`d realised earlier that the dreadful grating squeak was a common fault - thought it was my negligence. An optimistice note - whatever I replace it with won`t be any worse! | | Katharine | 20/12/2007 13:05:06 |

| HOTPOINT | TDC32P | I bought this machine 3 years ago when we moved and I could no longer use my much-loved vented model. Very poor design, vents clog with dust, dog hair and fluff and are impossible to clean properly. Frequent musty smell. No problems with thermostat, but poor performance compared to previous vented model and makes a horrible screeching noise. Last Hotpoint machine I buy! | | No longer a Hotpoint fan | 30/10/2007 08:17:18 |

| HOOVER | HNC175 | Had this dryer for just over a year, and it seems to be going wrong already. It makes a really loud squeeking noise which is really annoying. Also doesn`t seem to dry clothes aswell as it used to, I have to put it on for twice as long to dry clothes. I would`nt but another Hoover product!!! | | Anon | 10/10/2007 12:00:11 |

| Hoover | HSC170 | Just over a year, warranty has run out, developed a nasty squeak on top of the annoying load noise it has made from the start under normal operation. (when it kicks in sounds like an aircraft taking off!)gets the clothes dry so probably more suited to an out building so you can not hear it, Had my own repair man in to fix the squeak but he gave up due to lack of accessability to the parts inside. so still squeaks and selling to get a Zanussi to give that a try! Oh, on searching the internet not a lot back on this product so probably stopped making this model. | | Mrs | 16/02/2007 18:07:33 |

| HOOVER | TV630 | Waste of money not to be recommended, Rear bearings made of plastic causing squeeking which eventually gets much worse as bearing wears away. had to replace bearings when only 12mths old now worn out again.
