SamsungHTBD2RThis system is awesome. I purchased it in Dec 2008 and is truly the best system I have ever seen for picture quality and sound. All you need to do now is spare the cash, go buy it and forget the cinema tickets. The true definition of HD. 5 out of 5Anon11/02/2009 06:37:02

SamsungHTBD2RThe Samsung HT-BD2 is the second Blu-ray system is amazing, must buy. Ive had this for a month now and its wicked. Sound and Vision 10 out of 10. Forget Cineworld have this! The HT-BD2s key advantage over the BT100 is one where you get a full 7.1 speaker system in the box for only a slightly higher price than the 3.1-channel Panasonic, making the Samsung seem like better value on paper. Upscaled 1080p DVD images match true hi-def in the detail stakes, offering bold and artefact-free pictures that will give your SD collection a new lease of life. Easy to setup and saves money in long run, no need to buy addition kit, this with your 1080p TV is all you need.5 out of 5Amazon Reviewer24/11/2008 01:01:01

SAMSUNGHTTX500RThis system is widely available for around #400 and for that kind of money you are getting an awful lot for your money. When the system was delivered in a box the size of a coffin I wondered what the!**! I had bought. The system comprises of 4 tall boy speakers and a large center speaker. In my case the front pair and the center connect to the biggest sub I have ever seen! It is enormous! The rear pair of towers are connected to a wireless unit that I managed to pick up for #45 but is available widely at about #70. And guess what it all worked. The system is VERY good looking from the blue hue that emits from the bottom of the stand mounted dvd player to the shinny excellent quality plastics on the speakers and sub. I bought this system to match with my Samsung LE40A686 tv and it all looks fantastic (even my most difficult techno phobic friends agree). The most important thing is obviously the performance. The upscaling dvd player at 1080p setting is amazing. It is as good as Blu RAy all day long. The sound quality blew me away. I am easily pleased but the Diva performance from the fifth element is outstanding and the first 20 minutes of saving private ryan really make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. If you are considering paying #400 for a cinema surround system and you have the space you will not be disappointed with this.Under stated it is not but thats not what you are buying here. Well done samsung. 5 out of 5Andy Surtees02/11/2008 07:07:45

PhilipsHTS3154The system fits well in our living room which is not very big. Easy to assemble and operate. Sound quality is good enough. The only down side is - lots of cables and wires which any system will have unless it is wireless. And the price is unbeatable. Over all a good deal5 out of 5Amazon Reviewer27/10/2008 01:01:01

SamsungHTBD2RIt is not a small system it arrived in a box the size of a coffin!. Setting up was very easy although for a change I read the manual. Took me about an hour to putting everything together to turning the system on. The stand speakers are around 4` tall and I would recomend that you would need a TV of at least 42` to not make the speakers dwarf your TV. The sytems looks and feels stylish and everything worked very easily I have a samsung tv which means I can use the remote from my tv to control the player. The system is amazing the sound and picture is great my friend came for a look and has ordered on for his home as well. 5 out of 5Robbie16/06/2008 15:09:58

SonyHTSS1300I can only say We are very pleased with this system, linked to a Sony 46` HDTV it is a stunning package.. The 5.1 sound is incredible. Don`t be put off by the 1000watt spec, you don`t need it loud to appreciate the quality. Also doubles as pretty good HiFi system, my sons claim it sound better than our Bose system! I cannot endorse that, but it is a very full sound with great clarity. It has also renewed my interest in TV and watching films, particularly in Blu Ray Bob 5 out of 5Bob B07/02/2009 09:23:14

LgHT503THWow! i took a gamble with this system as i required tall standing speakers that looked stylish, an upscaling dvd player which is easy to setup and use and most of all quality sound. The dvd player is simple to use and upscales to give my collection a new lease of life. Looks are stylish and it blends in with my lg tv perfectly. The simplink system works a treat (with a lg tv). Radio music has never sounded so good. Sound quality is superb (personally tuned by Mr Mark Levinson). Music has beautiful bass and depth. Hooked it up to my xbox360 and was blown away with the whole experience it really does add a new depth to online gaming. All in all a great purchase and my wife loves the overall look and sound so i am still in her good books too. Recommended5 out of 5Amazon Reviewer31/12/2008 01:01:01

SonyDAVDZ830WI got this home entertainment system to go with my new 37inch sony tv.I brought it basically because the helper at sony narrowed it down to this dav dz830w or the davis10.I chose this system because (A) it was cheaper (B)it has far superior watt output and(C) the wireless rear speakers option was attractive to me.It has superb sound and the 1080 upscaling is brilliant making the picture outstanding. When you turn the volume right up whilst watching a film the bass makes your living room tremble making it a very cinema like experience. The system also really comes to life if you turn it up while listening to cd,s.All in all ive been delighted with this sony system and would recommend it to anyone.5 out of 5Amazon Reviewer29/12/2008 01:01:01

SonosBU130My husband had been looking at this system for quite awhile before he bought it and was initially put off by the cost. It was however completely worth the money. We bought our zone players about two years ago and they have moved house with us. There are many things that make this system superior: - the ease of installation - its easy to move about - the ease of use - the controllers are very intuitive and feel very i-pod-ish; apparently the man involved in designing the ipod moved over to Sonos which probably explains it. - the features - the fact you can walk between rooms and there is no delay between them. You could have the same thing playing throughout the house and just move between rooms without noticing the difference. We have got our entire CD library on a home server which is connected to the Sonos (avoids the need of having a computer connected) so we can listen to anything. It is easy to find the music you want as well with features like power scroll. You also have internet radio from around the world but you can save your favourites. The best thing is that you get updates regularly. In the past we have had a free Napster trial that you accessed through Sonos and last night we had an update which gave us access to podcasts which unfortunately meant having to listen to a podcast of 606 from Radio 5(not their fault). This makes the system an excellent purchase as it is not a static system but instead gets better and better. We dont pay for the updates; the controller just says that there is a newer version of the s/w. Overall I would definitely recommend this if you want a flexible, powerful system that will last you for years and years.5 out of 5Amazon Reviewer31/10/2008 01:01:01

PhilipsHTS3357I noticed that other reviews direct the reader toward the product specs page for the multi region code. I may be blind as a bat - goes with my age Im sure - but I cannot see it anywhere! Ive just managed to locate this item elsewhere for the grand sum of £115, now all I need is that code. Can anyone point me in that direction or list it here please? Many thanks! Jez5 out of 5Amazon Reviewer13/09/2008 01:01:01

PhilipsHTS3357This system is absolutely amazing. An upscaling multi region dvd player coupled with a surround sound system that is just incredible for the price.Id been thinking about buying something like an Onkyo av receiver and a seperate set of surround speakers from Richer Sounds for around the £250 - £350 mark to go with our recently purchased (from amazon) Toshiba 47Z3030db lcd tv and then sometime later replace our Panasonic dvd recorder with a blue-ray player. Then I saw the reviews for this and thought at £115.14 delivered it was worth taking a chance. Our lounge is 20 by 10,so long and thin, and even though we watch tv from about 13 away, because of how cheap this is, I was still worried that the speakers wouldnt be loud enough or have enough bass. And then we watched the first half of Cloverfield and had to switch it off because I had done all the volume settings too high, particularly the sub-woofer,and we both found it overpowering. The volume and clarity is incredible, and would easily fill a room half as big again. So far we havent watched anything with the volume much above 15 and that has been more than enough.I agree with another reviewer that the centre speaker is sometimes a tad thin, but it really isnt very much and the sound is absolutely crystal clear. The sub-woofer literally does shake the room, and we have concrete floors, and the satellite speakers are great. The upscaling picture is noticably better and because of that we wont be buying a blue-ray player until this system breaks down.As far as the few complaints others have made; we have no speaker hiss, so far,and dont need an optical socket, but I agree that the remote is worryingly cheap with very small buttons that are badly laid out and feel as if they could easily stick or stop working. The multi-region hack worked fine and its had no problem with any region 1 dvds.Changing the speaker volume settings is a pain, but not exactly the end of the world, but other than that I really cant think of much bad to say about this. As far as sound and picture go this has given us a standard of both that I genuinely thought would cost 4 times as much.If youre planning on spending anything up to £500 to upgrade your tv then listen to this first,or just take the word of all the positive reviews and buy it, because I cant believe youll get anything better for yor money. 5 out of 5Amazon Reviewer10/08/2008 01:01:01

SonyDAVDZ231Interestingly this product has gone up since we purchased it via Amazon and Hughes Direct. It arrived quickly and in perfect condition. Easy to set up with our Sony Bravia TV (from Sainsbury by the way and highly recommended at the price). It gives superb quality surround sound. SamsungHTQ100I bought one of these a few weeks ago and its fantastic!! The sound is incredible and the picture is amazing! I did had a problem when I first bought the system and noticed that the picture was moving slowly and I was advised to put a CD cleaner in it but it didnt work. I then fiddled around with my TV settings it turned out to be a setting on my TV a movie setting, it slowed the picture down, once I turned off this setting it played normally and its perfect, crystal clear picture!! Maybe try to see if its a setting on your tv or it must be a faulty unit and you should take it back as I have absolutely no problems with it at all. I would recommend this cinema system to anyone, its amazing!!! 5 out of 5Maria02/05/2008 19:05:44

DenonDHT1356XPBrilliant piece of kit. Ive got it hooked up to my Xbox 360 Eltite via optical and it kicks ass. I really cant beleive how loud it can become when you up the Bass. I was playing a war game on my Xbox and it sounded like my house was being Bombed. My neighbours have been round and complained twice already at the loudness. I think they are jellous. As per the above comments you must be doing something wrong or you have a faulty product. Ive hooked up my Virgin HD, Xbox Elite, Laptop and TV through my amp and it all worked fine. The optical is better. I have a friend that brought a Sony and he is gutted when he hears my Denon. It blows his Sony out of the water. 5 out of 5Slasher12/03/2008 14:57:40

JVCTHS66I think it`s really great. Not only gives it great movie expirience but it`s great to listen music with it as well. The 810 Watts together makes it a wonderfull home cinema system. Don`t hesitate on buying it. Easy to put together and `install` The subwoofer is great, but don`t put things on it xD I will fall on the ground. Huge bass. The only bad thing I can think off right now, which even isn`t so bad, but it hasn`t forward/rewind buttons on the dvd player. You must have the remote to forward or rewind. PHILIPSLX3600DThough I"m not hugely experienced in high end home cinema systems, I have had some experience with a variety of low-mid range systems and this one is great for the money. It looks sleek and tidy when set up, comes with a scart and everything easily labelled, and easy to understand. The presets are varied and offer good sound quality and you can really get a belting sound out of it. I would recommend heartily. The picture quality is great, though my own television does not do it justice, it also plays all the formats you"ll need and it operates smoothly and doesn"t look cheap. The remote also is sturdy, attractive andeasy to use with the lights off:-) Very much recommended. 5 out of 5Polly H.14/01/2005 09:34:14

PANASONICSCHT900I bought this system about 1 year ago am extremely plesaed with it. Obviously those with high experience of Home Cinema sound with seperate amps etc will pick fault in the audio performance of the system in comparison to seperates, however I have had many reasonable audio Home Cinema amps over the years and for the money the performance of this system is more than satisfactory for a small to medium sized room. Not only that, the system looks fantastic with the slim speakers very easy on the eye and not being too intrusive on the decor of the room! The system plays almost every type of format you could wish for (CD-R, MP3, MPEG etc etc), and I would have no hesitation in recommending this system for those wanting more than adequate audio and visual performance from an all in one Home Cinema system. 5 out of 5Gok20/08/2004 17:12:26

PIONEERNSDV99I bought this a couple of years ago for nearly £700. It just shows you how prices have changed! I was delighted with it then and I still am. The sound is great from such small speakers. The subwoofer provides plenty of deep bass (too much for the neighbours). I have the TV, digital sat., VCR, cassette deck, remote wireless speakers and a vinyl record deck(through a pre-amp) linked up to it. So connectivity is excellent. It looks good too. 5 out of 5Bob20/08/2004 17:11:59

SONYHTSL5this is a nice system easy to use and you will have a great sound if you use an optical cable. and i bought it for 269 euro so very cheap price. you can"t find better for that price and the sub is great with the 100 watt rms. you have to get one for such a price because there isn"t any better. 5 out of 5ken06/07/2004 10:24:26

SAMSUNGHTDB120A sleek looking amazing piece of kit. The speakers are tiny but you get some real oomph from the passive sub. It's multi-region and has played every DVD I've thrown at it (including MP3 and DVD+R discs). Picture quality is excellent and the sound is subtle and clear.

A Highly recommended system for small to medium rooms.
