Fishing has been an important part of my social life for a while now and only recently had I decided to supplement my tackle box with a catapult.
The construction is very good, nice elasticity and easy to pull end. The shaft is of a quality construction and rigid with only a little give (and only then only once the end is pulled back as far as physically possible). I did make the slight error by pulling the pouch back too far, effectively slinging my bait way too far and certainly away from the end of my pole. The elastic is also a good length and probably with the correct girth, (the problem you can have with other pults is that anything too thick and stiff and pulling back the pouch makes it go out of shape - not so with this one). I find that the occasional lubrication of the elastic is a good practise to get into to help prolong it.
Having been a keen (amateur) angler for a good few years, you kind of have you own way of doing things and dont really want to try anything too new. As such, Im like that with my bait. Id seen people quite often using catapults, but I always preferred tossing my maggot by hand, it was always a much more satisfying release when you got a bite, knowing that youd done it the traditional way. That was before I discovered this catapult, enabling me to splatter my load over a much wider area, and lengthen the distance by a good few feet. This has also helped as I have a strained arm due to too much manual baiting. Its a good back up tool.
I like the catapult very much which is why I gave it such a high rating, however I still prefer the manual tossing method.
