| Fox Forx | Vanilla R | Pound for pound better than anything in the price range. Rockshox, Manitou, Marzocchi, should look at this and up the ante. Ive never had a fork that felt perfect straight out of the box. Absolutely brilliant | | M Brumwell | 15/10/2007 11:15:30 |

| Manitou | SX 80 | These forks have performed faultlessly for nearly two years now with no servicing and moderate to hard use. However, the preload adjuster seems to have no limits (turns endlessly) and it used to stop after 3-4 turns. Somethings obviously amiss now, but I'd recommend thes forks highly. | | J Heaven | 22/01/2004 11:30:41 |

| Rock shox | Duke Race | Outstanding fork. I'm no lightweight at 6'0" tall and approx. 240 lbs. so I tend to be pretty hard on equipment. I installed my Duke Race on my 2001 KONA Caldera along with a Chris King headset about 5 months ago and I have absolutely no complaints. It took me 2 rides to set up the fork exactly how I liked it and I haven't had to adjust ANYTHING since.
I ride 1 1/2 - 3 hours everyday (weather permitting) on everything from heavily rooted single track, river valleys, free ride trails, to paved hiking trails and I can't believe the abuse this fork will take and not even flinch. This fork is so light, stiff & adjustable that any size rider would be thrilled with it, but if you're a portly pedal pounder (180 lbs.+) like me, then I would stack this fork against any of the offerings from our friends at Fox or Marzzochi in terms of price, tunability, weight, performance and DURABILITY.
I'd just like to say thanks RockShox, for making a killer lightweight XC fork for us fat guys who used to dream of a fork with the light weight of a SID and the durability of a JUDY. | | Tinker | 17/10/2002 11:59:33 |

| Rock shox | Sid Race | Every major component of my SID SLs collapsed one at at time - RS kindly replaced them with SID Race versions. I now have a complete SID Race - But it is of equally poor construction and finish quality. Noticable aluminium sagging and loss of stiffness after less then 5 months. Watch the wet, these forks are water soluble. The paint is so thin water easily makes it to the Mg.
On the positive side, when the internals are all in place they can't be faulted. RS are helpful, if not a little slow when the forks inevitably go wrong.
Send them back and demand a replacement - perhaps they'll spend a little longer on design and finish quality in the future. | | Doofer | 05/11/2002 17:20:22 |

| Rock shox | Psylo XC | The fork is a sweet one - it has alot of travel and you use all of it if u ride hard and if u weight more than 170Lbs.
Get a heavier spring. I got the spring that it came with and i have only bottomed it out once on a 5ft flat drop off a bridge, they say u can change the oil weight and it is supposed to help but I don't want to screw with a perfect product.
P.S. if u got the extra cash the SL is nice with lock out. | | Matt | 01/08/2002 |
