| HOTPOINT | FF200E | HOTPOINT FF200E `FROST FREE` FRIDGE FREEZER. I rated this `thing` as a five star Unfit for Purpose, disgrace. I bought one of these from Comet in December 2006 for nearly 400 pounds. On 01-09-2008 I paid Comet 7.5 pounds for the removal of the biggest waste of 400 pounds I can remember. I am not going to list yet again all the problems I had with it during the 20 months I put up with it, because they are already well documented on this site. This abortion was the only refridgerator that has EVER failed in our family for more than 40 years! The sad truth is that ALL the refrigeration units that operate using the current `frost free` technology are likely to suffer the same problems as the FF200E. Personally, we have switched back to separate fridge and freezer, for another five hundred quid! Why don`t I trust the new fridge and freezer? | | bes@charmf.demon.co.uk | 26/09/2008 07:30:38 |

| ARISTON | MBA3842C | Bought in March 2003 from a local independent dealer and have not had any of the problems I have seen here. Fridge bulb blew last Wednesday and that is it. One gripe I have is that the clock tends to gain a few minutes, which to be fair is nothing compared to what others have experienced. | | Mr D Farrell | 26/09/2008 07:29:48 |

| ZANUSSI | ZENB9950SI | Bought this produce almost a year ago and am now having it replaced, after having the same continual problem unresolved. Lovely looking fridge freezer and was ok for 6 months, then noticed the fridge kept getting warm. | BEKO | CA7015FFS | I bought this fridge/freezer on the recomendation of my brother, It is a lot larger than the old fridge/freezer we had before. I like the cold wall technology due to the one i had before started to blow dust into the fridge compartment, but we did have it for 8yrs.The freezer is fantastic, I can freeze anything in less than a hour, brilliant for chilling wine, largers at short notice. Good value for money. got mine for £350.00 inc free delivery, which i thought was cheap compared to the top brands. | | lewdek | 30/01/2007 17:22:01 |

| SERVIS | M7554 1FF | Very happy with this method of frost-free. Never did like the idea of the cooling tubes heating up to defrost the freezer. One drawback to having the heat exchangers on the back - when they defrost, the chunks of ice falling off make a hell of a racket (I assume they fall into a container). Some sort of restraint or cushion would make all the difference. | | Grahamdeepwell | 29/07/2006 21:39:13 |

| HOTPOINT | FF200E | The fridge was working fine for the first few months until the seal around the door started to come off, and then the top freezer compartment started to freeze over even though the fridge is meant to be frost free. | SAMSUNG | RL33SBSW | I have had the Samsung RL33SBSW for a few months now. It`s an elegant looking fridge-freezer, with sufficient storage room. The frost-free function is a real boon. | SAMSUNG | SRL629EV | Yes, I have also had it for 5 years and it`s been great. Apart from the odd bulb replacement there has been no faults until today. A beeping sound persists placing the fridge in the `Quick Cool` mode intermittently. Sounds like a minor problem and will try to get it fixed before replacing. | INDESIT | C239NF | Purchased our unit approx 2 months ago. On the plus side loads of space in the fridge and freezer, frost free works well and the unit has a good solid feel to it.
On the down side reversing the doors was significantly more difficult than I had expected, requiring drilling 2 holes, the instructions were of little help and the replacement plastics on the top of the fridge door are a poor fit however this is only visible when the door is open. Frost free fan is a little noisy when running and the ice makers are difficult to get the ice out.
We purchased an additional glass shelf from a local spares outlet to increase shelf space in the fridge even further (£17.00). Overall a good buy. | | Robert@Luton | 22/11/2002 09:17:20 |

| ZANUSSI | ZX99-5SI | Superb fridge freezer, very quiet, had a problem trying to get it working, as instructions tell you to press (power on/off)button repeatedly for three seconds, this does not switch it on,you have infact to press & hold down the button and it will soon start up! | | rchipsda1873 | 04/09/2002 08:41:45 |

| HOTPOINT | FF187E | The fridge part of this fridge freezer has stopped cooling after just over a year. I`m not sure what the problem is, but it`s most definitely too soon for something to go wrong. I see online that others have had the same problem. While it can be fixed, it`s frustrating for such a new product. | | m.g. | 03/09/2008 09:40:28 |

| ZANUSSI | ZNB3450S | I had a problem with the freezer thermostat, it kept saying that it was above -11C which sounds an alarm. Something to do with a switch not kicking in when the door is opened. I had my first one replaced after 4 months, 16 months later I have the same problem but I am out of warranty. Very good size fridge storage, freezer compartment ok, top drawer is very small. Quiet running. | | A Thompson | 28/08/2008 20:16:41 |

| DAEWOO | ERF336MB | Nice fridge freezer with reasonable quality finish. Protective plastic was tucked inside door trims and very difficult to remove cleanly, resorted to carefully cutting with a sharp blade, not a good idea but worked for me. Initialy installed with door hinges next to a wall, but because of poor design and hinge location could not actually open doors fully and get into freezer drawers. Was able to move fridge/freezer about 25mm from wall and can now open doors but cannot open fridge door far enough to remove right hand salad drawer for cleaning. Fridge interior lamp blew within 1 month, but is easy to change. Runs reasonably quiet, at least it is quieter than our last frost free fridge freezer. Consider carefully where you place this unit, if it is with the hinge side against a wall forget it. | | Robin | 27/08/2008 17:46:19 |

| SAMSUNG | SRL3616B | It`s behaved very well up until now. It`s a frost free one but has now started making ice in the freezer which obviously it shouldn`t do. It`s about eight years old. I contacted about four repair firms to try and gauge what it would cost to repair. I`ve been quoted from £70-£80 call out charge only plus parts and labour on top of that. One honest guy told me I would be better just buying a new one because these items had a shelf life in a manner of speaking and once they needed repairs that was it. Refering to the above, I don`t think I have ever had an appliance that lasted 20 years. My longest was my tumble dryer which lasted about ten but when it started going wrong that was it. I just never bothered replacing it but must have fridge-freezer so will be looking about for new one. | | Jeans | 31/07/2008 08:09:27 |

|
| PROLINE | PC213C | I`ve had this model for just over 6 years and it works well for a single guy. If I had a family, I`d probably need something bigger. For its price, its a bargain. It does have a tendency in the fridge compartment to wander in temperature UPWARDS AND FREEZE ALL OF YOUR FOOD THOUGH. | | tOKsIK | 26/07/2008 09:32:51 |

| Baumatic | BR22.8 | A few weeks after installation I realised the fridge was warm. Unfortunately this was over Christmas and I had guests staying which meant food was stored in the garden as it was colder than my integrated fridge. Eventually it was repaired and then the bottle shelf broke on the door; approx £35 for a replacement. The fridge is now about 2 years old and the bottle shelf has broken again but this time the inner skin of the fridge has broken at the point where the shelf fixings are. I am not impressed - out of 4 built in baumatic appliances 2 required repair almost immediately. I think it is time to buy Neff (which I have had for years in my flat and its still running fine) | | Andrea Marcou | 23/05/2008 13:16:56 |

| SAMSUNG | RL33SBSW | Works well but now had the lining of the freezer split where the drawers run - results in the drawers being hard to move. Many others have reported stiff/difficult drawers - wonder how many have got this problem. Curry`s replaced first time as it was only a few days after we bought it. Samsung have offered a repair under warranty - lasted a few months this time - but not sure that I trust it to get any better. Also, the much reported noisiness is not pleasant. Certainly not worthy of its Which best buy rating. | | GRM | 14/01/2008 10:00:03 |

| ARISTON | MBA3842C | This has worked well for just under 6 years so I won`t complain to much yet, but having heard the posted reviews I am thinking I should cut my losses and just replace as I don`t fancy joining the £90.00 call out club. The freezer works fine but the fridge ain`t chilling my food. I am not technial so don`t have a clue, any ideas out there | | Pat | 27/09/2007 13:03:18 |

| HOTPOINT | FF200E | Bought one of these last year (July 2006) and almost immediately the freezer section iced up - even though it is meant to be frost free, and the fridge stopped working. Called the engineer who said the seal round the freezer door was incorrectly fitting, so the motor was constantly working sucking in warm air and the whole motor unit etc had frozen solid so the fridge had stopped working. He defrosted the unit and fiddled with the adjustable feet so the fridge freezer was standing square on the kitchen floor, this made the seal around the freezer door fit correctly, started it up and it worked fine. So be warned because it is such a tall fridge/freezer it is easy for it not to stand `square` so causing a problem with the seal. Apart from that, there is loads of space in the fridge and the extra deep doors mean that even the extra big milk cartons fit. | | okay now | 11/08/2007 08:03:32 |

| DAEWOO | ERF384MSG | Owned earlier model ERF-361M, which was OK for a couple of years, but then thermostat started playing up, resulting in the freezer contents defrosting on more than one occasion. | ARISTON | MBA3842C | I also own this fridge freezer. I have had the control panel replaced following a power surge however touch wood nothing else has gone wrong, therefore I was surpriced to read all of these problems that people have been having! | CANDY | CPC240FFK | Very good Freezer but the Fridge has a tendancy to fluctuate in temperature for no apparent reason. Quite often it falls far too low causing items to freeze and toamtoes etc to spoil due to their fragile nature. Otherwise a good quiet appliance which is good value. | | Anon | 14/05/2007 15:37:44 |

| Bosch | KGN34V00GB | My review of 13/02/07 complaining about the excessive noise this freezer made is now happily resolved. I contacted Bosch and under the terms of the guarantee they arrived the next day and fitted a new part, excellent customer service, as to why it it was allowed to leave the factory faulty is another question!! | | now happier | 22/03/2007 12:44:22 |

| Frigidaire | FRE2422A | The auto-defrost fridge is a little overzealous - mine builds an ice-shelf at the back of the fridge, just above the two drawers. It`s not difficult to remove (10 mins work max), but it freezes up to the same size again within days. | | Anon | 17/11/2006 17:37:10 |

| Siemens | KG30U625GB | I live in Asia and recently bought a Siemens KS30U622FF, purchased about three weeks ago. It was quiet for the first four hours - I was so impressed - and then the most annoying buzzing sound started in the compressor, and the compressor is on literally every twenty minutes for fifteen minutes. The new fridge did come with an additional red booklet on noises - in French, Spanish, Italian and English. I agree with Peter Ledger that it is unusual to have an extra booklet explaining that the noises are `normal`. This must have been produced because of complaints? I called Siemens and they came around, checked it and said that nothing was wrong with it, that the buzzing noise is normal. Well if this is normal, complete with the sudden loud cracking noises when the automatic defrost operates - then I never want a Siemens fridge again. I have never had a buzzing fridge before, consider this a design fault, and want to get rid of it already. | | Annoyed | 13/10/2006 14:58:03 |

| HOOVER | HM22C | This is a nice little fridge for two people. If you have more than that in the house then this is not the fridge for you. We have had this one for over five years now, and it is only now that there are three of us plus another one on the way that we have found that space is really running short, which is why we are now upgrading to a bigger fridge. But for a couple on their own, or with a little one, it is perfect. | | Naraldur | 16/06/2006 09:51:26 |

| Smeg | FAB32 | fantastic. great looking, funky styling.. we went for the silver version to match the silver washer and dryer. Huge Fridge (enough for 4 cases of larger and a couple of boxes of wine!)
Only problems are the bottle shelf in the door is a bit flimsy, and the freezer fronts have a habit of snapping where they shouldnt.. the spares are a bit pricey so you just learn to live with it... | | kaillum from Blackpool | 26/01/2006 09:42:19 |

| HOOVER | HCA391FFK | I purchased this product on 19/09/04. It was delivered 26/09/04/. The capacity in both fridge and freezer is very impressive. I liked the see through drawers in the freezer. Unfortunately my happiness was shortlived. I returned from a 2 week break on 5/11/04 to find that it had stopped working, the compressor (motor) had failed. The after sales service was slow to react, an engineer arrived 4 days later. He could not guarantee that I would get a new motor asap. I was told one had to be ordered, which could take 7 days plus. I decided to make a great fuss and got a replacement via the retailer. I decided on another brand, as the after sales service was very poor, plus I cannot believe it broke down so soon, which was a pity as it worked so well. | | Brenda | 02/12/2004 13:41:53 |

| Hotpoint | FF200MP | Freezer drawers do not open far enough to get an average loaf of bread in or out, the same applies for 2 litre cartons of ice cream etc. Very annoying. The led displays the temperature you have set for the compartment, NOT the temperature inside the compartment, stupid and misleading. First machine went wrong inside a month, the replacement has just gone wrong after eighteen months. Good sized door compartments work well, as do the glass shelving in fridge section. Meat and salad drawers work well. | | Anon | 02/10/2008 14:23:05 |

Meat and salad drawers work well. | | Anon | 02/10/2008 14:21:07 |

| Hotpoint | FF200MP | Freezer drawers do not open far enough to get an average loaf of bread in or out, the same applies for 2 litre cartons of ice cream etc. Very annoying. | HOTPOINT | FF200E | I bought this fridge freezer in 2006, 6 months later it froze up and like other people I was told it should be defrosted regularly and that there was no such thing as a no frost freezer, and I have had to defrost approx 6 times in the last 2 years.I am considering kicking it into touch and getting a new one a different make of course.I read about the new valve that could be fitted but it and thought I would ring hotpoint and see if I could get one fitted but it seems that is not a permanent answer either. | DAEWOO | ERF334M | What a relief! Thought it was just us, the bottom fridge shelf has cracked badly, 2 of the freezer drawers have chunks out of them and the bottle shelf from the fridge door has fallen off (to replace it would require a new door...). Tried to find replacements, but put off by expense £27 for drawers and £30 for shelf. | | ejv | 27/08/2008 17:42:51 |

| HOTPOINT | FF200E | Ha - I wish I had read all this before I bought the thing! Mine is doing the same as everyone elses - alarms going off and the freezer defrosting and I have to wait over the weekend to have someone come and look at it. Its only just 6 months old as well - at least its still under warranty for me!! Also - the storage may look great, but its not actually as practical as it looks. Be warned! | | stupid giant fridge | 27/08/2008 17:42:46 |

| HOTPOINT | FF200E | Yet another person with a problem! I was initially really pleased with this fridge/freezer as it was exactly the size I wanted with convenient storage. However, within approximately 6 months the plastic casing that holds the drawers in the freezer section had cracked and broken. I just thought it was poor but stupidly didn`t phone the repairline to get an engineer out. Now, my FF200E is 14 months old and there are pools of water/ice constantly forming in the base of the freezer. I called Hotpoint who said it would be £89 call out which I was furious about as it was only 2 months out of the initial 12 months warranty. The engineer has just visited and apparently the problem with the cracked casing is entirely related to the water forming as we are losing gas through the holes in the casing. I explained the cracks had been there since the machine was 6 months old but he said hotpoint would probably only offer me a new one at a discount as the machine was unrepairable!!!! Fortunately, after bartering, they have offered a replacement, but this has still cost me £89 on top of the initial price. I am reasonably happy but would never recommend Hotpoint to anyone. | | tiger24 | 10/07/2008 18:59:24 |

| HOTPOINT | FF200E | We purchased this fridge in Jan 07 and it been nothing but a problem. We have had an engineer come over 7 times in the last 6 months and they finally decided to replace it, guess what with!?! Another FF200E! I`m glad I had insurance otherwise I would have not been able to afford all the call outs. As for the engineers...they take 1 week to visit you! Not nice when its 25 degrees outside and you have no where to store your food! Terrible fridge, terrible service! | | Another Unhappy | 30/06/2008 08:14:46 |

WE BOUGHT IT 2 YEARS AGO.LATELY MY MILK THAT USUALY LIVES IN THE DOOR COMPARTMENT HAS BEEN GOING OFF VERY QUICKLY-I THOUGHT MY GROCERS WERE NOT COOLING IT PROPERLY DURING THE DELIVERIES. THE ALARMS HAVE BEEN GOING OFF AS WELL AS ALL MY FOOD. YOU KNOW- AFTER READING ALL ABOUT THIS IDIOTIC SERVICE AND UNHAPPY PEOPLE IVE DECIDED TO BIN IT AND NOT BOTHER WITH REPAIRS BECOUSE BY THE LOOKS OF IT -ITS GOING TO COST ME MORE MONEY, TIME AND AGRO TO KEEP IT. | Hotpoint | FF187EP | Looks and finish are ok and freezer compartment working fine.Although the appliance appears Large on the outside it is small on the inside.Big problem with the salad drawer. With the frig operating at the correct temperature items in the salad drawer FREEZE. Turning the frig temp setting down to stop the freezing in the salad drawer happening means that the main frig compartment is not cold enough. Is being replaced as only two weeks old and engineer says that the baffle is not operating correctly but have since read other reviews with the reviewers reporting the same problem. | | Brushy | 18/05/2008 16:37:31 |

| ZANUSSI | ZX99-5SI | This product is to be avoided. The alarm goes of continuously and after two years the freezer gives up. I`m afraid I would not recommend.

| DAEWOO | ERF334M | I feel oliged to echo the thoughts of the other reviewers - good fridge/freezer, but to have to spend £100 to replace all the flimsy shelves after only 5 years is really disgraceful. | | Dave | 11/12/2007 13:22:01 |

| Indesit | BAN134 NF G | When I moved out I kitted my kitchen out in Indesit and within months they all started to pack up however small or large the problem. The dishwasher stopped working within five months and I had some won out to fix it then the button fell off that turns it on! The washing machine door is hanging off and I have to kick it in to get it to work now! When I bought the fridge three days after I bought it the light stopped working inside and and the freezer frosted up! It`s now has now stopped working altogether, for the money your paying for these items this is appauling! | | Anon | 02/11/2007 11:36:33 |

| Bosch | KGN34X00GB | We bought our Bosch Fridge Freezer in January 2007. We started to notice excessive noise and that the fridge was warm. We rang Bosch on Monday morning to report the fault and told the earliest they could come out was Friday, no time could be given, as this was an All Day call out, but could ring 30 mins before hand to warn of arrival!! Engineer appeared this morning - he has been recruited in from Belgium to deal with this specific problem - he replaced loads of parts and hopefully all will be well. | | EILEEN | 22/10/2007 14:34:01 |

| INDESIT | CA133L | I have had this fridge freezer for five years and it has just ground to a halt. Initially it served the purpose well, but for the last couple of years, it has not maintained a cold enough temperature in the fridge section. The freezer has been fine. A very reasonably priced appliance, but not made to last. For me, disappointing. | | Elaine | 14/05/2007 15:37:53 |

| HOTPOINT | FF200E | Bought this fridge freezer in december 2006. March 2006 the alarms on it went bonkers. Then I woke up the next day all my food was soft in the freezer and the fridge was warm. Before this I thought the size was great bottle rack etc. Now im stuck with no fridge or freezer for the next week.I dont think companies think this is a priority and drag there feet for as long as possible. | | fedup!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! | 27/03/2007 13:01:44 |

| SAMSUNG | RS21NCSV | This worked ok for 2 1/2 years but the fridge side then conked out - frozen up at the back. Now I`ve found other reviews detailing the same problem and saying it`s a design fault, or so an engineer has told them. I`m very disappointed. Previously I had a Zanussi which lasted 15 years. This one has cost me about £300 per year - not very good value. Don`t think I`ll even bother to fix it, it hasn`t solved the problem for the other reviewers anyway. | | irene | 17/12/2006 12:30:29 |

| SAMSUNG | SRL3616B | I think i bought 4yrs ago but now the Power keeps going off and needs someone to keep an eye on it to press it back on so far one Ex Iceland Engineer who said he was Samsung one! but no clue as to what it was got him to bring back the £30 charge for doing nothing. It could be the Circuit board but would cost £100 I was told. I think all Electrical white goods have built in obselescence from greedy Manufacturers-unlike the old days when you could guarantee things would last at least 20 years,or more. | BOSCH | KGU44120GB | I have had my bosch fridge freezer for 4 years, and for the first 2 years it was problem free. However in th last 2 years it has not been maintaining its temperature. It is supposed to be frost free, I have had to defrost and scrap ice from the freezer every 3-4 months. As a result I have had to throw food away and purchase, and subsequently I have to purchase a new product. | | Not frost free | 23/08/2006 13:23:48 |
