i luv my wii i have had it for a week now and it is the best thing since sliced bread.
the console is so sleek, cute and compact and looks great. the controls look great and come with rubber jackets which make the game play alot more comfortable and easy.
everything about this console makes it so easy to set up and play it didnt take me long atall!!.
you get wii sports with the console which is great. my favourites are tennis, bowling and golf. golf is my all time favouite the scenery is stunning. all the games r easy to play and the way u use the controls to interact with the game i.e swinging the control like a club for the golf etc is class.
i rate the graphics pretty good compare with our playstation 2:)

Loving the games on Wii Sports. Particularly Tennis and Golf. The Boxing doesn;t work that well though (or maybe its just me), but that would be my ony small complaint. Everything great about the console too.

The Nintendo Wii takes gaming to a new level with its new amazing hi-tec sensor controls. I have been a gamer for over 20 years and love the freshness these controls give to games. The Wii is reliable and robust like all Nintendo consoles are.
The game Wii Sports that comes with this Wii is fantastic and you can play Baseball, Bowling, Golf, Tennis or Boxing. Each of the five sport games feel very close to the real thing which is great. In fact playing the boxing for one hour and your arms start to really ache. The Wii is the best console to own if you have family and friends who enjoy games as there are lots of brilliant multiplayer games on the Wii. I have Mario Kart Wii, Super Smash Bros Brawl, Mario And Sonic At The Olympic Games and 007 Quantum Of Solace which are all excellent multiplayer games alongside Wii Sports too. Some other wonderful games that I own and can Recommend are as follows: The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Super Mario Galaxy, Zack & Wiki: Quest For Barbaros Treasure, Super Paper Mario, The Sims 2 Castaway and Trauma Center: Second Opinion. You can play games online for free and download old classic games of past if you missed out first time around or want to re-live the old days. Overall the Wii is best thing to happen in video games in over 10 years and thats why its wining the console war.

I think the Wii is great fun with its free movement fun. As you dont have the problem of climbing over cables to get pass to do what ever is you need to do, as the only cable you got is from the nunchuck to the remote. The games I do find fun despite enjoying a good game of Quake 4, Doom 3, COD 5 and other serious games like Crysis. I think you got to be a snob if you think that people in there 20s will not play it. Its great way of having fun. The Wii Fit is great for it but the console has a platform to help people with Arthritis, rheumatoid, psorarsis and many more illness ailments to help people to have medical instrutor or video link with they doctor through the Wii. As it be a good way to use the Wii fit board to help people with ailments. I use it for my Arthriti condition like the aerobic workout like the step aerobic and take my time, despite being 29 going onto 30 this year. Table Tennis is another good game, Mama Cooking is a great laugh with family and I love CSI on it too. There are games for the Wii. So I dont know why people are snubbing it, while also the the remote acts as a good light saber in the Star Wars games. The negatives I would say is this, Why make the remote controller 90% efficient then you got to buy a block that goes on the bottom of it to give it more control effiencey? Why is the price still at the original price when it came out in and around 2006-07, while the others have dropped they prices? Why was the Wii Fit boards was only set for people at 23 stone and under? When it meant to get people into shape, those that are big and fat at 24 stone and over it no good for them. The download point system on the Wii shop is no go area as the companies of the old manchines have already made they money, they should make them free. Instead of paying £21 for 1000 points lets say. The point system is a rip off. While if you buy a game second hand you not going to get a scrath card for the registry of the game. So companies should offer a scratch card option for people who buy it second hand to register on club-nintendo website. The Wii is for ages 5 - 105, I dont know why the person said gamers 16 - 30 wont play it. 50% of people I speak to online through the Xbox 360, pc and on the PS3 think Wii is a great console to relax to and just too hava fun. To get away from seriousness of some of the ignorant gamers one can get. Allot gamers love to help and just to have fun, winning is great fun too but making friends is even better to have someone play against. I love the wii as it brings about the different way of playing Football games, baseball and tennis games too. If you play the wii standing up and stuff you should be getting a good work out, if you dont just stand there and cheat. Well this is a basic review. Also you can get docking bays cheaper elsewhere.

.....I still play it regularly. I have a PS2 and a PS3 but I spend as much time on the Wii as either of the other two consoles.

The graphics are similar to the PS2 but to be honest, 1/2 an hour into a PS3 game you dont even notice the graphics anymore.

If you are considering getting a Wii I highly reccommend the following games, Resident Evil 4 (the Wii is the best platform for this game), Super Mario Galaxy, Tiger Woods 09, No More Heros and The Legend of Zelda - Twilight Princess.

It is easy and tempting to review a product quickly after purchase. However, when you buy a games console you are actually making quite an important choice these days, after all they have never been cheap and have now become a social medium for friends and family.

But hold on...I think Im being too general. Lets face it the Wii, unlike its rivals, is immensely popular because it can be enjoyed by various age groups or different ability gamers, who now can use a very innovative control system that is different to any other commercial console out there. When I play with friends...or family (of which some did previously believe such a device to be for youngsters or geeks), it is generally because a `Wii night` has been arranged. Who would have thought a games console now has a dedicated time slot in our lives. But importantly we all have a great time laughing at each others inadequate swing or hoola hooping (thank you Wii fit) and feel that little bit better about ourselves, despite the occasional embarrassment.

So, I think it is safe to assume that I enjoy playing the Wii and believe I have made an excellent choice for a games console. However like many other gamers who have been playing for many years, I still crave the use of a controller that lets me just exercise my fingers. Luckily I have previous systems, and whilst they do not have `high resolution/definition graphics, still provide some outstanding game-play. Also, many football games, fighting games and driving games (obviously referring to the addictive Mario-Kart here), include the use of the traditional GameCube controller which also `scratches the itch.`

There is no disputing that hardcore gamers want traditional methods of play sometimes, but for a console that can actually provide so much there is nothing more satisfying than the Wii. For this reason and probably more without wishing to bore the reader, I have and surely will be playing with the same enthusiasm in a few years to come.

Nintendo Wii Console (Includes Wii Sports)

I received the package promptly. I was very nervous, because I didnt know if installation with TV would cause a lot of problems. Luckily, that has not happened, because it took a few minutes to do that and it was easy! A good-sized Digital integrated TV would be recommended! But I should get two remote controls instead of one! So I ordered another one and I had patience to wait for that! Wii Sports is excellent!

Arrived in time and in good condition. The console is basically brand new. No scratches or anything on the console or the controller. Only the tell tell sign of being used by the little bit of brown on the control (dead skin) on the Nintendo logo , but thats normal after use. With out any doubt this is one of the best deals around if your trying to save money!
If your looking to save money on a Wii and dont mind it being used by someone before you, then this seller is for you! However if your someone who wants a 100% new console then dont buy it. You may as well spend that much extra!
After searching the internet and doing some research, you will find the Wii are all in the same price range. This is because Nintendo make more profit off the console, than the seller. They sell everything at super high profits. So it hard to find a really cheap one. This is one of the ways to get it cheap!

The wii console is great. It has wireless remote controls. It has a wide variety of games, including many games for the family. You can also equip it with many accessories

eg. Wii Wheel
Guitar Hero Band Bundle
And much more!

On the menu it also has channels.

There is a shopping channel, a photo channel, a disk channel(from which you enter the game you have inserted) and the weather and news channel. You can add some more channels in certain games.

eg Wii Fit and Mari Kart.

It will give you days of entertainment.

The Nintendo Wii games console is great for all the family giving the opportunity for everyone to have a go at games which might normally be off limits for a variety of reasons. You can play at different levels and once you have mastered the games which come with the console, you can buy any number of other games.

Nintedo wii is the best console out there. It is easy to use. Fun to use. And cheaper than a lot of consoles of its size. Wii is for everyone regardless of their video game tastes. You can play a 4 player bowling tournament at home, or with a different game and the right downloads you can play over the internet- yes it can also connect to the internet via wi-fi-or just chill out on your own with a more relaxed game. I think wii is the best and you should buy it for yourself and your family if pure entertainment is what your out for.

Let me begin by stating I am not a fanboy, and I have never had an allegiance to a particular console or manufacturer. However I grew up playing many of the Nintendo systems and have long felt they provided a magic other companies couldnt compete with. It was for this reason I purchased a Wii. As it sits gathering dust in the corner two years on Ive realised it was an unnecessary purchase. As a 20 something male I feel the Wii isnt for me, and have since sought my gaming kicks in other consoles.
For family fun it probably cant be beaten but for like minded gamers as myself you should look elsewhere. There simply arent enough games to cater for the more hardcore gamer who requires a little more depth. Sure there are classics like Zelda and Super Mario Galaxy that are worth anyones time but the catalogue of truly great games is pretty thin.
Nintendo seem to have created their own market for a new generation of gamers, a family games system that even grandma can join in on the fun. However I cant help feeling theyve lost the generation of gamers who helped build their gaming legacy.

I love this product. I have a very disabled - dyspraxic and autistic kid who at last can play computer games. the wii has some very simple games for younger and less abled kids ( wii play and carnival) and the intuitive nature of the controller with its feedback is fab. I love this you can get you kid to play with his mates on playdates so its great for interaction, turn taking and everyone wants to do it. this should be on the curriculum of all SEN schools as it is a real way for these kids to entertain themselves ,interact with neurotypicals and be involved in social situations that are reinforcing for all concerned.

The thing that eventually sold the Wii to me was the info saying `completely backwards compatible`. If youre a retro gaming fan like myself DONT BELIEVE THE INFO - its completely misleading. You wont be able to have all your old carts in one place to play on just one machine because it doesnt work that way. The only thing its compatible with is the GameCube and even then you have to use your old controller.
What Nintendo have done is made available a `virtual console` - to access this you first have to get either a wireless LAN or USB dongle, when youve forked out for that you then have to fork out extra for `points` to buy the old Nes, Snes, N64 etc games from this virtual console. I have no intention of paying again for games I already own.
Altogether misleading and a lot more expensive!
Other than that, as a console its great fun, be prepared to pull a few muscles (and smash a few light fittings!)playing Wii tennis and totally exhaust yourself trying to knock out opponents in Boxing!

This machine is every bit as good as it looks in all those TV adds, it really lives up to all the hype. I was sceptical at first because I already have a PS3, which is a wonderful machine, but what makes the Wii so good is the interactivity. My wife and I both play games on it every day as part of out exercise routine and its just so much fun. At the moment we only have the games disk supplied as part of the package from Amazon, but hope to find other disks that appeal to us soon. We play this on a 50` plasma screen and although the graphics are rather basic compared to the PS3 this does not detract from the enjoyment of games; we particularly enjoy the tennis.

Dont expect photo-realism from the graphics and high definition sound. Do expect to have the most fun youve ever had with a console!

Once you open the box youll find the tiny Wii console, plus various cables and gizmos which make it all work. Take time to read the setup guide and put it all together - to be honest some of it seems a little odd and may catch you out, but it is simple enough if you do exactly as you are told, and in ten minutes or so youre ready to play. The box comes with one Wiimote remote controller, and one `nunchuck` controller which you may never use, unless youre a fan of the boxing game. If you wish to play against other people you may wish to buy additional Wiimotes, otherwise you end up passing it from person to person.

If you have internet access the Wii can connect to your wireless router to download updates and so on, and there is also a `store` option through which you can buy (using points you can buy from Amazon or shops such as Game) additional software such as a web browser if you feel the need. The built-in wireless access of the Wii console also allows you to play some games - `Mario Kart` for example - against friends around the world, which is great fun.

The console comes complete with `Wii Sports`, which is essentially a technology demo of what the Wii and its controller can do. On this youll find a tennis game, which is ok but a little difficult to control and can only be played in `doubles` mode, which can be one person and a computer controlled player versus two other computer controlled players, or you can have three of your friends play with you. `Baseball` also appears, with you taking the role of bowler and batsman (fielding is done by the computer controlled characters, so dont worry - you dont have to run around!) and is fairly enjoyable. `Boxing` is exhausting, and had me sweating buckets within a few minutes! `Bowling` is the standard ten-pin version and the Wiimote allows you to curve the ball if necessary - great fun. Best of all, however, is the golf. Granted, there are only nine holes in total, but they are beautifully presented and feature wind effects which can make things challenging. Only the last hole, which features four or five large islands in an ocean, is rather unrealistic, and is also maddeningly frustrating!

My dad doesnt approve of computer games. He saw our Wii, asked what it was like, and we showed him the golf. A smile spread across his face. Moments later he was playing. As he completed his first hole he turned to my mum and asked if he could buy one. Praise indeed, and this illustrates the appeal of this wonderful toy. The phrase `fun for all the family` has seldom seemed more appropriate.

I am a tech guy, just upgraded my PC, bought a playstation 3 and a Wii.

By far the Wii is the best purchase of the lot. We got Sports and Fit and both are great games for fun and exercise.

The best thing is that the games are interactive for people of any ages. My parents (around 60+) and niece (4 years) were playing against each other playing sports using the Wii controls which could not be possible in real life.

Great variety of games within Sports. My wife and I compete at Yoga and a the Balance Games. I would not hesitate recommending this product.

I used the playstation once for half an hour, and since then it has just gathered dust.

I bought this for my son for Christmas, he loves it as its easy to play. If you have younger kids using a standard games controller is not always easy but the physical action required by the wiimote makes things easy.

The wiimote would have benefited from having a rechargeable battery as they eat batteries. A second wiimote and nunchck would be helpful additions to the standard pack too.

They only released it in 2007 and I expected it to be very complex and tricky. Was I wrong?
Yes.
This is absolutely brilliant.

THE CONSOLE
The Wii is a proper console-makes you feel as if you are playing for real. The remote is the thing you are holding when you see the screen. Other consoles, like the ps2, ps3, xbox 360 and the DS. But this console is a proper real-life console. You pretend that you are playing the game for real. And that is what makes the Nintendo Wii an experience that you never ever want to forget. And this console is great fun.

WII SPORTS
The game is a mix of five popular sports (Baseball, Bowling, Boxing, Golf and Tennis). My personal favourite is Bowling and I am a pro at this sport, just like I am with the golf. I only became a golf pro a few days ago. To score a pro title your skill level must be at least 1000 to earn it.
Tennis is a good sport I like. My best court position is closest to the net. It is a very good sport(even if my shots end up out of the court!)and good fitness as well.

Baseball is a game where you swing the bat and aim to hit the ball so that you end up getting a home run while the running and fielding is all done automatically. This is not the best sport (once skill gets over 500 it is horribly difficult.

Bowling is the easiest-and the best. My record score is 196(I know many people who have the Wii can score over 200) but I find picking up spares as simple as putting a 1 foot putt. And usually if I dont get a spare I get a strike. And thats even better. This was the first sport to give me the pro title.

Golf is a very clever course where a forest and the sea come together to make a great 9-hole course. And it is a well deserved course. I am frequently scoring par and the occasional birdie. But one time I did make an eagle. That was my best moment. And I am a pro on this sport too.

Boxing is a very dangerous sport so Ive decided to keep away from this one.

There are also 15 training events like trying to hit as many home runs as possible, picking up as many spares as you can, and trying to putt as many shots into a hole as possible.

And finally, we have Wii Fitness. You must keep fit on the Wii and Wii Fitness helps you do just that. Three events are taken each day and your score is calculated. Remember, the lower the age, the fitter you are!

ONE LAST THING
There are lots of different channels to look at, like the Mii Channel, the News and Weather Forecast channels and then there is the Photo Channel or if you want more channels or more games, then visit the Wii Shop Channel.

I have never been one for video games however on seeing my children playing on a friends console we decided to buy one for Christmas. I can safely say it was the best decision I made all year. We all love it and in these days of pointless soap operas and reality TV it made a change to keep active as a family while we were together indoors.

I personally love the nintendo wii.
Its great to play games on and if you buy extra remotes you can have family and friends round to play multiplayer games!
I recomend Wii fit + Balance Board
Its really good, helps you loose wait and is packed with great mini games to make loosing weight fun!
Wii Sports (Comes with this Wii) is also really fun. But if you often have friends round and have a bigish family it would be helpful to buy another remote as Wii sports is a game that can be enjoyed but just you, but Id say it is more fun with more people!
Have fun! Recomend this item :)

This is a great piece of kit. Kids love it. On its own it would become boring but with the addition of Wii Fit and various great games we bought as well this has become a great series of games. We limit the use for our children and when the weather is like it is today -10, they can still play and exercise inside. Really impressed. Be selective with the games though, just because it is a well known play name does not make it good. Read the reviews. It does help.

Great console and some of the games for it are ace! The unique nunchuk and wiimote controls are fantastic and really allow a lot of games to become more interactive, especially Wii Sports.

The console is fantastic for the family to get together and join in, especially for Wii Sports which is included with the console. The only compromise is that it only comes with 1 set Wiimote + Nunchuk and some games really are great for multiple players (such as family) so youll have to go forking out an extra £40 or so for an extra wiimote + nunchuk, theyre quite expensive sold separately. Despite that its such a fantastic console and, well, theres no other console that you can compare against the features of the Wii.

Btw, I recommend you get Sims 2 Castaway, a fantastic game that uses a lot of Wiis unique capabilities.

The Wii is nothing like as good as it should be and not an alternative to the PS3 or Xbox 360. This is not a viable media hub or set-top box.

Why?

The graphics support is truly cheap and nasty; which is why the Wii doesnt support DVD payback, despite being built around a DVD drive. Ive replaced the supplied composite media cable with Venoms RGB scart, giving a better picture but still pants compared to a grown-up games console. The picture migrates across the screen as the Wii warms-up. Ive not seen that since the early days of the PC.

The Wii is built down to a price, providing a profit to Nintendo on each unit sold; whereas Sony and Microsoft subsidise their consoles and make money on the games. EITHER the Wii is dead when the big boys find a way around Nintendos patents and launch their own motion game controllers; OR well all have to buy Wii II - the fiends!

Plugged it in 26th Dec and we have no watch no TV since. A fantastic game for ALL the family.
Its easy to use, plug it in and go. The games are great fun. At last the video game producers have developed a game that can be used for the whole family in the family room rather than having the teen hide out in the bedroom.
Another plus is the fact it keeps you very active, and will make you laugh so much. Its gots to be good.

Santa dropped this off at our house the other day, and Im pretty sure he had a smile on his ruddy face when he did it. `Ill teach those bleedin couch potatoes`, he said with a laugh. `Ho Ho Ho`, and off the old jelly belly flew, with his sleigh full of Wii related accoutrements for sedentary families around the world.

Having the good fortune to have a semi-geek in the house, the Wii thing was soon set up in the kids bedroom, and after 5 hours I thought I should check on the adult kid and the little kid - just in case.

Santa had sadistically included an extra controller and nunchuk with the package, so added to the pair that comes with the set, a full scale 2 kid war was in progress, covering bragging rights for five included games - boxing (little kid leading), bowling (big kid ahead), baseball (no clear advantage - but then we dont play baseball here, because its just not cricket), tennis (neither will see Wimbledon) and golf (Tigers safe for now)

They had set up a Mii (avatar) for each member of the family (self included), and looking at the body shape they chose for me, I immediately remembered that I should make a New Year resolution to lose weight.

Soon enough a challenge was issued, and hours later I emerged as the household bowling champion, but threatening to sue for physical abuse for my boxing loss. (I think they made it personal)

All these games have an aerobic and physical element, and if you dont get yer lazy azz in gear, nothing much happens. Bowling for instance, requires you to swing the controller like you would a bowling ball (making sure that you secure it around your wrist first so you dont put a hole in your TV), and after hours of unaccustomed exercise, your muscles can really feel the burn. And its not only your arm muscles. One does not bowl without the correct body language after all.

Oh the pain!!

Now theyre looking at all the other doo-dads and wing-dings to further their Wii experience, and making strong birthday and fathers day hints. IMHO they should drop off their requests to the fat man in the red suit, and get HIM to come over and play some games.

Off to review some Icy Hot and Radian B, and make a massage appointment.

Don`t believe the hype about the Wii. There are dreadfully few genuinely
good games that make good use of the Wii`s controller, which is dreadfully
unsensitive - you can try to smite the ball but the movement only
registers a feather-touch on Wii Golf.

It`s enjoyable for a time, and it`s good family fun (waste of time getting
a Wii if you don`t have a brother or sister or two to play with) but the
novelty wears off real quick.

Just purshased wii, great product, just a bit of advise, we did find that
if the wii is placed near a wireless network it will greatly interfere
with reception for the computer, we have had to move it to another room.
Fabulous value for money.

Wii - it should be called the WOW!!!
This really is a fantastic machine and everyone from my wife to my mum
(aged ovr 60) has really enjoyed playing on it.

The most impressive thing so far for us is Wii Tennis, which comes free
with the console. In true Nintendo style the gameplay is spot on.
In multi-player mode (you can have up to 4 players playing doubles but I
wouldn`t recommend it unless you have a room the size of a real tennis
court!) it`s down to the timing of the players and you can even put spin
on the ball by twisting the remote at the right moment.

For me though the best part about this game is the single player mode as
the computer opponents are amazingly realisting in terms of their
gameplay. You start out playing fairly easy to beat `amateur` players and
as your rank increases you play against tougher and tougher opponents.
When you get up to `pro` level you really have to concentrate and get
fast, first serves in as well as being ready to volley plenty of balls at
the net.

I have played this game for hours and hours and never tire of it. The
accuracy of the motion sensing controllers is amazing and if you haven`t
tried a Wii yet you will be amazed!

All I can say is get one, you will not be
disappointed.
