| Step inside the magical world of Willy Wonka’s famous chocolate factory. Based on the Warner Bros. Pictures feature film directed by Tim Burton and the classic Roald Dahl book, this new videogame allows players to explore deep inside the factory and play the beloved story as Charlie Bucket. Find a Golden Ticket and, along with four other children, win a personal tour of Willy Wonka’s factory guided by the notorious and reclusive candy-maker himself. Embark on a fantastic adventure exploring the many extraordinary environments of the factory, including some from the book that do not appear in the film. Discover what happens after the other children, greed-driven and unrestrained, wreak havoc throughout the factory. Then save the chocolate factory from their destruction by solving mystifying puzzles and using inventive candy powers. By helping the Oompa-Loompas and restoring order to the factory, Charlie can earn the respect of Willy Wonka and win an unexpected prize! |

Mediocre is the best word I can think of for this game. It is basically your bog-standard platform game. Nothing really special. There arent enough levels and some of them are quite repetitive, but on the other hand there are some quite inventive levels and mini games. Some small bits are also quite inventive, like using Oompa Loompas to help you, which involves a bit of strategic thinking. The one thing that annoyed me was that you cannot save until you get to the end of the level, and some of the levels are quite long. There are no checkpoints so if you lose all your lives you have to go right back to beginning of the level, even if you were nearly at the end! This can be quite frustrating if theres a hard bit near the end of a level that you just cant get past! The game was fairly easy, but I am 18, so it probably should be! I would think a 10 year old would find it challenging enough but if youre any older I wouldnt bother.
Reviewed by: Amazon Reviewer Rating: Date Reviewed: 25Apr2006 | | | This game is so cool! It has lots of different levels, which are fairly easy, and it tells you how to play the game as you go along. Theres also stuff to collect on the way, and candy obstacles to avoid. You play as Charlie and try to stop the other children getting into mischeif! You also have to help the oompa loompas when the machines break down and stuff. Id say the age recomendation for this game is 8 - 10 years, as some parts are fairly hard.
