It works well the problem is that when the helix blade wares, which mine did after about 15 months. They state that it dosen`t require sharpening, that is because it cannot be sharpened. It costs #70.00 for a new helix plus all of the hassel of fitting it.

A product with the Bosch name usually spells quality. This is no exception. I have used this shredder on a number of occasions now, and I have not encountered any problems. If you follow the instructions in the manual, and dont try to overload it, or put in too much green material on its own, then this thing devours anything you feed it. The noise level is remarkably quiet, and can be used confidently in a residential area.

An excellent product, that actually does what it claims to do. Very powerful, but also quiet. The screw mechanism which pulls branches in is far better than the rotating blade system on older shredders. The only criticism is that the shredded material is discharged low down, so its nor easy to collect in a wheel barrow or larger container.

the shredder is working really well so far. I have used it heavily over the past few weeks and it has coped brilliantly with most of what I have chucked in it. I will give it 5 stars when I have had it longer and if it is still working!

Having had problems with an Impact Shredder (TRY2100ISD), I took it back as it kept cutting out. Paid £30 more for the Bosch, the performance was night and day. The Bosch does the job very well, It takes in the shrub, shreds it and spits it out. In the event it blocks access is very easy, though Ive not had that problem. Quiet and efficient, easy to build.

The shredder has had a mixed review and I wasnt sure what to expect.I am well pleased however and it has done everything asked of it,shredding both woody and green material with ease.I think it was a wise decision to ignore the cheaper machines - you only get what you pay for!

I am a gardener and use this for brambles privet etc.I have owned this for 18 months it blocks up with leafy material.but it is so quiet and efficient a joy to to use.I find it copes with branches around 2 cms diameter but is happier with 1.5cms diameter. We have used it about 15 times for about 3 hours a time and it still works fine.We use petrol powered for bigger material .This shreder is fantastic for the money

Having just tried out my new Bosch quiet shredder for the first time I have to say it has far exceeded my expectations.I read the reviews before buying and was hopeful it would perform adequately, but was really surprised at just how well it did perform. I had a large pile of mainly woody shrub & conifer branches waiting to be shredded and fully expected to have to cut them into more managable sizes as some of them were really quite large & bushy. To my amazement the shredder coped easily without the need for this- it effortlessly pulled the branches in & spat them all out in small 1-2cm chunks.Basicaly if the branch fitted into the slot at the top (approx 3.5cm ) then it shredded easily. A couple of other reviews commented it wasn,t that quick but I found it to be plenty fast enough- by the time I had bent down & picked the next branch the shredder was pretty much ready for it.I was initially undecided about this model or the next one up but eventually decided on this one and am more than pleased with my choice.

Plainly, this isnt a heavy duty machine, but it behaves exactly as the other reviewers have said. Its superb at compacting and disposing of brambles, tree prunings etc, though I wouldnt care to use it on large, mature branches. Its a great pleasure to stuff one end of a ten foot bramble into the machine and watch it disappear.
One small point (though you cant realistically blame Bosch) is that the small spanner supplied for first time assembly isnt really man enough for the job - if you use it, youll end up with very sore hands. So plan to have a socket set available, and assembly is very easy and straight forward.

I am in no way a professional and both my wife and myself were extremely sceptical about buying this sort of machine with perhaps a tendency to clog up at the first sniff of a weed! However, with various bushes needed to be cut down to size we thought that we might as well give it a try. Up to date I have managed to clear a huge anount of various shrub with branches matching the recommended width (Along with some maybe a bit bigger). Having read other reviews I ensured that any flowery/leafy stuff was `pulled` through with thicker woody material and, so far, I have not had too much of a problem. It is sometimes easy to get a little complacent and try `bigger` items but, in all fairness, if anything does get jammed it is a matter of reversing the motor and allowing the items to be pulled through with a few attempts. On the whole I am extremely happy with this item - it has done all we set out to do. It is not a professional shredder for tree trucks but it saoon becomes a simple matter of acknoweldging what will go though and what will not. Particular problems I have found are with large knotted branches but even these will go thorugh ( if not too big) with a bit of `reverse and go`. This machine has worked for me and I am very happy with the results which are now rotting down nicely ready to be spread on the borders in a few weeks or so.

Bosch was the first to use the worm screw to cut and shred larger tree branches.I have always bought Bosch tools, having had a few cheap and nasty brands in past years. The build quality is always good and solid.

This shredder will eat almost any branches that you can feed into it and is almost unstoppable for shredding tree branches and woody prunings, but for softer waste ( flower stems, leaves etc ) forget it. It clogs easily and finding the right balance of woody waste and leaf waste is almost impossible.
For my garden, which is 1/3 acre and mostly herbaceous borders, I need something thats happier with softer material, so Im looking for another model this autumn.

As I was buying a shredder for the first time I really had nothing to compare it with so I bought the best available in store. I was really impressed with it on all counts. It is easy to manouver, relatively quiet considering what it is doing, very easy to use and it actually becomes quite addictive to use. I cannot believe I have taken this long to get around to buying one and it has taken a lot of the hard work out of garden waste disposal. I was impressed with the relative ease that the machine deals with quite large branches and the first time used it for around 5 hours with no drop off in performance. I would definately recommend to prospective purchasers.

This is a great shredder. It has effortlessly consumed the prunings from three apple trees,a leylandii hedge and a mixed hawthorn, blackthorn, sycamore and beech hedge. However, watch it if you are feeding Weigela prunings.I have had to strip mine down after a blockage that would not clear even when using the reverse function. The Weigela seems to be very fibrous, and was crushed rather than shredded -just as if I had tried to shred a pair of shoes. I have now un-jammed the shredder, but it keeps tripping the power supply now and the motor doesn`t run.Methinks that I am in for a big bill-and the shredder is less than a month old!( I can hardly claim under the guarantee for trying to shred ropelike material can I?)

I recently bought the bosch atx2000hp. Mines a factory recon unit so Ionly paid £170 with a years warranty. Hows it perform ? Excellent.
Itsquiet and surprisingly quick. I was shredding cuttings off my pine andcherry tree. The cuttings were in some cases 5ft long and about an inchin diameter. I didnt cut off any of the stems off the main branches.Once the shredder gets hold thats it...let go and let it do its stuff.
Itworks similar to a butchers mincing machine in that a corkscrew bladetakes the branches and twigs down into the cutters.I didnt jam it once andit made very short work of the 6ft high pile of prunings. It was happytaking the ivy cuttings but the conifer trimmings (leaves) were a bit of apain as the corkscrew was not able to grab hold easily. I sorted thisproblem by stuffing it full of leaves and then putting a branch in. Itdragged the leaves into the cutters. I did try a garden cane to push thecuttings into the blade but it took the cane out of my hand.... With theshredder using a corkscrew type cutter and not a large spinning disk withblades on it, its quiet, and with a 2000watt motor driving a corkscrewtype blade it is very powerfull. Even old roots from a bush I had dug upthat took both hands to cut with the pruning shears went through itwithout it jamming. It also has a reverse on it so if you do manage tojam it, put it in reverse to get it out of the cutter.
A great bit of kitbut use with respect. Once its got hold of the item to be shredded, KEEPCLEAR. If I had paid the full retail price I would still give it a excellentrating. A 5 out of 5.
