| Smeg | SE70SX-1 | Lovely looking hob, easy to fit and takes up very little room underneath the worktop, but the one complaint I have is that after it`s very first use the stainless steel pan stands discolour to a very unattractive black/blue colour over the burner, which no amount of hot soapy water will clean off. | smeg | SE70SGH-5 | Good looker but the crown burner for the wok is a nightmare to clean. After the first use it appeared dappled and I have been unable to remove these spots in spite of now having acquired a pile of cleaning materials. I followed the recommended cleaning process but it was next to useless. It is a great pity as the silver style crown looked great when unused but is now a blot on the landscape of my new hob!!! | Smeg | SER60SX | Be warned if you thinking of buying this hob. it looks fantasic until the first time you use it, the pan stands discolour immedately on lighting the gas and turn black, the burners also turn a nasty gold colour. completely spoiling the look. Apparently with the correct cleaning product this can be changed back but i am doubtful. we now complaing to smeg as i belive it should be hightlighted when you purchase the hob, i have not brought a new hob to go in a new kitchen to spend hours scrubbing black of it when if i had been informed before i would never have brought it.

| Hotpoint | ET7424 | I love this hob. Water is very fast to boil. Instantly reaction to reducing cooking strength (unlike normal electric hobs which take time to cool). The best thing of all is that the surface is so easily cleaned - no knobs to have to clean around, a quick wipe is all that`s needed. Even when I`ve left pots and they`ve boiled over you can wipe the mess up straight over the cooking zone and continue cooking straight away. Yes I own one of these. The biggest problem I have had is that the safety thermocouples are very erratic and so I can ocasioanlly get 4 burners to work but most of the time only 3! The back middle burner practically never works.
