| Stefan Eidt | Devils Rock Riesling 75cl | This may not be the best Riesling (it`s not my usual tipple), but haven drunken many Rieslings (especially the so-called good ones), I found them dry beyond belief rather than just dry. However, my persistent nature paid off when I bought the 2006 Devil`s Rock Riesling. I still don`t know why I bought it; it was a Riesling, it was German and it had a silly name that I thought was so obviously trying to compete with Australian wines (now that they moved into the Riesling market). Devil`s Rock 2006 Riesling is simply the best Riesling I`ve tasted thus far. It is slightly dry with a crisp `applely` taste and finally it provides a slightly tingly sensation to your tongue, which personally I really enjoyed. Buy this. You will not be disappointed (caveat: if you`re like me). PS I bought the screw top version. I don`t know if it makes a difference. | | Seamouse | 18/06/2007 14:26:23 | | |
| | Jurgen Reinhard | Blue Nun 750ml | BLue Nun is excellent wine. Everyone seems to think its sweet German Libraulmiclch but actually its undergone a major transformation in the past few years. I"ve been reading about it, apart from Victoria Beckham being a fan (which made me go out and try it in the first place) its no longer Libfraumilch, its a qualitatswein (good stuff) and on top of that, for all you people who say I"m a red wine drinker or I prefer dry wine, they actually make other varietals including Merlot from France, Rose from Spain and Chardonnay from Chile. I say give this wine a chance. It"s obviously got a lot going for it despite all the negative comments. I"ve personally tried all the wines and think they"re very quaffable. THe Rose is particularly delicious and as its avaiable from my local Asda superstore, has become something of a "house" wine in our house in the summer. Forget what you"re supposed to think, try it, I think you"ll find you"ll like it, or there will be at least something in the range that you will love. And why not show these so called wine experts that they should stop dissing perfectly nice and jolly good value wines! COme on, lets start a Blue Nun revolution.......

| | Eichorn | Eisberg Chardonnay 75cl | Absolutely disgusting. THE most disgusting liquid to pass my lips. Buy a smoothie or mix fruit juice with fizzy water. This sickly fizzy drink had the most repulsive smell to get past and then a taste which stays with you for hours. | | Keen | 30/06/2007 07:06:37 | | |
| | Tesco | Bereich Nierstein Qba 75cl | This is horrible and awful and certainly not white. | | weevil roberts | 02/02/2006 09:29:54 | | |
| | Tesco | Bereich Nierstein Qba 75cl | Very guzzable, feels like there`s a party in your mouth and everyone`s invited. Leaves a strong banging noise in the head 12 hours later. Make sure the other half doesn`t catch you sipping it late at night whilst posting random gubbins on internet message boards. | | Schizo | 27/05/2007 08:28:10 | | |
