YaleDigital Safe with LCDGreat Safe. Would Reccomend it to anyone. To open without code, insert key and turn to the right. Then quickly turn the lock to the right and the safe should open. To reset your code look near the hinge and there should be a red button. Press this and enter you new code then press enter. Let the light turn off and try your code. Make sure you don`t leave the keys in the safe when you shut it. 5 out of 5Cameron24/06/2008 14:36:36

GETTwin Black and White CCTV Camera SystemA very clever and compact system. The on screen setup dispay is very staight forward to use. The system allows you to take snapshots, or moving footage of intruders or guests automatically or manually. If you wish to view your footage you can do so on screen or on you PC via a card reader,as all you info is saved on an SD card. The time and date is also printed on each image. Take a look on Ebay and save yourself £40-£50 on the high street price. 5 out of 5jim swales11/05/2008 08:05:19

Kidde2 in 1 Combi-Smoke and Carbon Monoxide AlarmThis alarm is excellent - it very clearly and loudly indicates which sensor has been triggered - it either says very loudly `fire` or `carbon monoxide` repeatedly. Also has a small light which flashes every few seconds. We have this alarm placed on the ceiling outside our bedroom door so if it ever was triggered it would be heard clearly by us. 5 out of 5tracey02/11/2007 10:38:37

YaleDigital Safe with LCDStylish, strong constuction and effective lcd mechanism. Key overide feature too. Bought one of these safes a month ago and it really is fantastic. Anchored this to the wall and went on holiday confident that should the worse happen and someone gains access to my house then very important items like birth certificates, credit cards, bank statements and even 2 external hardrives containing over 100gb of information was secure. Highly recommended from the leading manufacturer of home safety products. 5 out of 5Kevin, Leeds UK19/10/2006 12:36:56

MicromarkCCTVI use 4 Micro mark cctv cameras to monitor my breeding parrots behaviour in their aviaries.I would not be able to see any of the early signs of breeding if it was not for these brilliant little cameras.Without them my world of parrot breeding would be empty and dull, not to mention me having no idea of what was going on,or if birds had mated. With this set up I can watch an observe into their day to day life, often able to change things for the better before they could of gone wrong if i was not able to monitor my birds behaviour.Seeing into their world without them knowing allows me to enjoy them moreso, where as i would never see them without these wonderful cameras, always crystal clear, and have never let me down. 5 out of 5Tracy-Ann Griffiths Proffesional parrot10/04/2006 15:36:03

UnbrandedEmergency Fluorescent LanternI`ve used this lamp for five years (continously throughout the winter months, morning and evening). It is only now begining to lose it`s capacity and is not holding the charge for as long as it did.

Well worth what I paid for it (£25).

Micromark23233 / Automatic Video Starter with Time and Date GeneratorThis kit works well with good quality B&W pictures and sounds with a time/date stamp on the video too. My only complaint is the PIR sensors. You setup the camera to capture the scene you want to cover. But some of the PIR sensors are pointing outside this frame and the kit is triggered by accident sometimes. It would have been better if the PIR sensor was seperate to the camera head itself so you could move it slightly to compensate for this. I"d give this kit 8/10 4 out of 5PJ.morgan@blueyonder.co.uk26/02/2005 11:18:38

If any zone switch is open If any tamper switch is open. If any port is open, micro switch is open. Siren wont work in these states Tamper led wont blink.but stays on. Note from cold start alarm may take 2 min to warm up. Siren will work when reset is completed. For pizzo to work, connect + To connector pin 20 and to pin 18. Whilst in bootup, if any port ,or tamper is interrupted. Siren wont work , only speaker will make a sound . I = about 15 Ma. Had a problem with excessive currant drain , as zone switch was not in fully 0 state. Alarm will stay in tamper mode whilst a error is detected, and wont commence a count down, until problem is corrected . Learn mode connection info is wrong position. If unsuccessful in learn mode , disconnect all power, and reconnect.. Switched smoke alarms will work on tamper links as power comes from alarm supply.

Pls note, full testing can only be done by closed box and after a full bootup. Time out is 20 minutes.

UNICOMBZ060Works very well but it extends the length/hieght of your light bulb by an extra 7 cm (2 and 3/4 inches) so be sure you have enough room for it. GETBlack and White Twin CCTV Camera System I own the same product but with infra red for improved night time vision. Easy to install and use but has down sides which they don`t tell you in the owners guide. You need good lighting (halogen) to light up the area monitored otherwise any movement will not trigger the cameras to record. Also, any stills or video recorded can only be from one camera at a time. To be able to record from both cameras you have to purchase an extra DVR box which from the manufacturer is £75 + VAT but cheaper just to buy another set outright. 2 out of 5Lancsdelight08/01/2007 15:32:01

UNIROSSRechargeable TorchGuess it just about does what it says on the tin but feels a bit cheap and plasticky.

Uses two AA 800mAh NiCAD batteries (which are not a very firm fit in the battery compartment).

800mAh is not a very high capacity compared to modern Ni-MH AA cells that can be as high as 2500mAh. Also as these are NiCADs and because the torch is designed to be kept on the charger between uses, it is likely these batteries will soon develop a memory and last for less than the rated `Up to 1 hour continuous use from a full charge.`

Says it`s shock resistant but I wouldn`t like to drop it on concrete or similar as the case doesn`t feel very strong.

The beam is bright enough for poking around in the cupboard under the stairs, using in power cuts or similar, but it`s nothing special.

The `magnetic strip for use under car bonnet` is rather weak and will only support the torch if it attached to a nice flat surface that`s not too shiney. If it`s shiney it`ll just slide off, and if it`s not flat it won`t stay stuck at all.

This torch should either be cheaper (say £5.99) or they should make it more sturdy and fit it with higher rated Ni-MH batteries.

If you don`t mind a bigger, more bulky rechargeable torch then the Challenge 1 million candle power spotlight (Argos cat. no. 982/8290 at the moment) is MUCH better made and about 50 times brighter (think car halogen headlight bright!)

It`s also exactly the same price, £9.99.

UnbrandedFire Angel Smoke AlarmI`ve had this product for a few years now and whilst it has performed very well as a smoke alarm it has one MAJOR flaw that I cannot live with. The web site for fireangel smoke alarms says that 40% of people admit to removing the battery from smoke alarms and that there is no need to disable a fireangel. I STRONGLY DISAGREE! The fireangel comes with a test mode where if you turn on the light and then off withing about 3 seconds then it emits 5 one second bleeps except these are not just bleeps but FULL volume shreiks lasting about a second each. The upshot of all this is if you just want to quickly check something in a room before you go to bed it proceeds to wake up the whole house with it`s excessive test mode. I cannot live with this awful thing any longer and it is going in the bin. 2 out of 5Neil S.18/12/2005 16:14:39

ChallengeWire/Pipe/Stud DetectorI purchased this sensor but have foumd it quite poor when sensing either wooden joists or electrical wiring. It`s eratic and untrustworthy. Swann CommunicationsDIY Security CameraWhatever you do do not buy a swann product they are the most un helpful lot you could have to deal with I have tried in vain to get a simple piece of wire from them even contacting the head office in Australia produced nothing once you buy from them thats it as far as they are concerned NEVER AGAIN and by the way they do not produce the products they are only importers even though their advert suggests they are the manufactures.. SO BUYER BEWARE 1 out of 5J Thatcher02/12/2004 13:39:57

Micromark23214 / PIR Camera System with 2 Way IntercomThe camera is small and neat. The problem with the camera is that is has a narrow field of vision. At a distance of 4 metres, only part of the car is covered, about 2/3 when viewed at right angles to the car.In average lighting conditions there is flaring on bright surfaces, and in average low sunlight, there is a lot of white out, blanking out those areas where sunlight shines.Even in average dull conditions, there is a loss of detail because of white flaring on reflective paintwork on the car. 1 out of 5cameraman05/11/2004 10:30:37

FireAngelPS101This product is dangerous. The bayonet fitting is not long enough. Ours fell out of the light socket and narrowly missed my wife. I took it back to the retailer, who refunded my money.1 out of 5Ben16/11/2003 12:07:54

FireAngelPlug-in Smoke AlarmIt is too easy to trigger test mode, when you are half asleep staggering back from the toilet, and everyone else in the household WAS asleep! Also the low battery chirp seems programmed to always start up in the middle of the night...apart from that, a great idea.1 out of 5frying tonight19/03/2003 19:12:03

GETWirefree Alarm System with AutodiallerWe had this alarm system 5 years ago, we have had no problems with it at all and has even worked during an attempted burglary at our home, preventing the burglars access to the house. Would recommend one to anybody 0 out of 5Caz18/10/2011

UnbrandedEmergency Fluorescent LanternI bought one of these from Argos and it almost caught fire when charging. It was only because I heard a sizzleing sound and saw smoke in the beam of the top light that I unplugged it and put it outside. Do not buy these or anything that looks similar to these.0 out of 5Warning: Dangerous Product.12/10/2011
